Just wasted a morning and 100 miles worth of petrol. :'(
Bought a used bench-vice as a £20. "Buy It Now"......`exchanged emails and was given a mobile contact No. to arrange collection; called and spoke with the seller on Saturday and arranged to go `collect it at 10.30 a.m today in Birkenhead.
Seemingly, no-one at the address and mobile going straight to answering service without ringing.....waited 2½ hours in case he was (simply) late but no show. >:(
I got the feeling someone was 'hiding' inside the address though. ::)
I now notice that the seller`s "other items" auctions were closed-early (yesterday) and have been re-listed with bidding starting at £50!
I think £20. clearly wasn`t enough for Mr. Greedy.
I guess it`s not important in the scheme of things; it`s just that I (mercifully) manage to avoid 'tosspots' but it`s this kind of nonsense that reminds one: "they`re still out there!"
....and sellers have the nerve to complain about "time wasters" >:(
Sorry for the rant! ;)

I know it wont help but leave really bad feedback on their ebay site....
At least you may feel a little better.
;)

Tell me about it Debs. I've had a car on there twice in the last week, people bid and you never hear off them again but I make it clear in the add that I need it gone asap. I would give the seller a call at 3.30am every morning for the next week or so oh and post his number up so we can all call it, that should teach him a lesson ;D
-
Did you get the dogs to leave a calling card on his doorstep, just to let him know he'd missed of course ;) ;D
EDIT: I like that idea Pete, Debs get online and add his mobile number to a dozen or so sex text sites, see how Mrs. Bad-eBayer feels about him getting all those naughty texts ;D

Don`t tempt me. [smiley=evil.gif]
TBH, it`s the petrol-cost waste that I`m most upset about.... 'things' are tight at Debs`towers and I struggled to fund the trip; but needed a vice.
.....must remember we have a 'triple dog poo deposit' option in future though! ;D

Debs, please name and shame to avoid others using this person and please do let us take the pi55 at his expence.
My mate did a deal and sent payment off to oldham for a Wii console, never got any replies or his money back, as the sod was a complete scammer,
These people just completely hack me off.

Can you not claim the money back from Paypal or eBay?

I also have a stupid problem on ebay.
Bought a watch, was supposed to be sent by fedex, got a email from fedex saying shipping is initiated but the item never came.
Contacted fedex, they said they never got the shipment.
Contacted the seller, he said maybe he made a mistake then said he will resend it, mailed afterwards that he did.
Didnt get any info from fedex, so I contacted them and they said they never recieved the item again!!!!!
Again contacted the seller, wrote a LOT of grhhhh and he promised to look into it with fedex and try to send it as soon as possible cause I said that I will open a dispute and want my money back.
But the most craziest thing is that the seller has 100% feedback from almost 400 buyers (that's why I still didn't open a dispute and will give him a couple of days).

In most cases - yes. This was a seasoned conman by the looks of things, even the police were after him for some of his ebay antics.

My missus has had to deal with some right t**ts on ebay in the past.
Someone who won an item, paid for it then moved house all within a week, and never told her the new address :(
She sold a vase (only small) to someone in Ireland.
It arrived in 3 pieces so the missus claimed off the post office for damage for them. Don't worry the buyer said, I've glued it back together ::) it still looks nice :-?
Sold a £25 bicycle on ebay, pick up only. Some one from York collected it. Took them 6 hours to get here, Derby. They got lost and after two hours of going around in circles rang me for directions. They arrived very stressed and tired, and couldn't get the bike in the car, a Fiesta :-X....I had to dismantle it in the end, enjoy your journey home I said. :y

I sold a load of stuff on eBay, all of which ended yesterday. What a palarva. A few of the winners e-mailed me to say can we collect today, So I replied in the positive, saves postage, one winner turned up, won a brand new continenal quilt, duvet, super king size, paid me for it £16, gave me a £20 and said keep the change and then left, 5 minutes later they were back, reckon I never said it was Super King Size, they did not want it, I refused to refund, I did offer the £4, they said no, it's OK, got home from work this morning and the duvet is back on my doorstep in it original bag, with a note saying, it is way to big for our bed, we don't want it, and Thanks. So, I am going to dentist on wednesday and I will put it in Heart Foundation shop. I won't start on the CD Changer I put on there, that is wayyyyy to long a story. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Did you pay the guy already debs cause if you have make sure you claim it back from e-bay / paypal. :y
I think we have all had to suffer a fool or two on e-bay but all in all i have found most sellers to be genuine and have only ever had one item not sent and had to claim the cash back and that was'nt even for me. ;D ;D
