Are the estate members in the minority?? there does'nt seem to be half as many estate related questions and threads on the forums, so are there only a few estate members? Although the saloon is great, the estate seems to be sooo much more practical and versatile, and they look brilliant lowered with 18's.............looking for some things like an irmscher grille, and clear repeaters and lexus or clear rear lights for "meanie" now, so if anybody has some for sale..................(99 mini facelift estate 3.0)
Cheers.

Most people here post problems that could be related to either saloon or estate.
Grilles are the same, as are clear side repeaters (from Vauxhall for about £3/£4 each) and as for lexus clear lenses ........ why would you want them fro either saloon or estate ::) ;D ;D ;D
-
Actually Andy, the clear lens ones i saw last night on a black estate with chrome 18s and tinted windows and twin pipes looked Coooool!!
maybe there are some naff ones about too???

An Omega estate?
I look at the rear lights of the Saab estates and ..... they're not for me ;)

It all depends on your needs I got mine as it made carrying the pram/buggy around alot easier when my boy was younger. but it seems most issues are the same as the saloon

Same here too ......
It's a very practical vehicle for ferrying the third-generation Sethsmates and their associated accompaniments around, (unpaid, naturally!).
It's great for towing the caravan too - especially the OOF meet at Newent ......
:y :y :y
-
Well, I can get ALL my group gear in it, and still have space for a couple of guitars too........AND I can get my snap-on tool box in it if I have to do a bit of "spannering" on my dads car, so it'll do for me.
Just a bloody versatile car at a modest cost, what more do you need?
-
Big car with all the mod cons for me and the family, lots of space and MASSIVE boot, powerful engine and cool looks, for 1200 quid. No brainer :y
-
Estate if you want it, we have one, they are just as costly to maintain, and as unreliable as a saloon..... :D :D :D
-
Saloons hugely outsold Estates, hence most questions are on Saloons.
We have 2 x Saloon and 1x Estate, got the estate for 2 dogs, as its perfect for 4 people + 2 dogs and luggage.
Even though the Estate is a 3.0 Elite, i much prefer my 2.2 Saloon, i find i handles a lot better, and oddly much smoother ride!
-
I maybe in the minority.
Go find another Facelift TD estate for sale, manual too. At the moment I don't see many.
That's not saying there's many about though, if you look you can find the DTi estate though.
Mick ;)

Ideally I would love to have my saloon along with a estate version. ::) ::) ::)
Having possessed a number of estates, especially in Cortina days, I value greatly what the estate can do. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

Are you getting rid (selling)of your estate Vamps?
-
I've had two estates. Ideal for carrying the dog and superb for loading up prior to pulling the caravan.
-
I have owned estate cars for nearly 20 years now and would never go back to saloons, the ease of loading anything heavy or bulky (especially jukeboxes in my case) makes them essential. Also I think they actually look better than saloons, but this is obviously personal taste.
-
Used to have a saloon until I pranged it and wrote it off. Once I had decided that another Omega was the only way to go I wanted an estate as would need the space for the family on holidays etc.
Always got caught out on the saloon with the tray under the parcel shelf that held the electronics, always restricted how much I could cram in. Never a problem in the estate.

We should do, but it is in lovely condition and in full working order, currently in daily use. This or a Galant Saloon must go, swmbo wants to keep the Galant cos it is a lot faster, but starting to cost money now :( Our local independant has offered to buy it and he call the Omega a 'Star of a Car' he does all the work on our cars and has done for many years... :y

We got the estate simply for the pooch in the rear. Since then, its carried a fair amount of kit and did so really well. As a 3.2 it gives versatility and ooomph when needed. Also reckon it handles as well as, if not sometimes better than, a saloon.
Just ask the fella in the (wannagofaster) Scoobie that didn't know what the various wheels and pedals are for in his car when on the local twisties and trying to climb over the rear of said estate.
.....erse........ ;D

Yup, me and the hound in the back. And Pete and his toupe some distance behind in my mirrors.... ;)
Also, showed TB howtoo change the direction an Omega could point in whilst at speed with the minimum waste of time.... ;D

So it was the drivers, not the cars then.... :y

Estate for me every time! :y Versitility unmatched, and somewhere to put the dog! :y
-
I got my estate because it was £350.I know I am cheap but it does the job of lugging me around and sometimes it drags the caravan too.

Or the PA system & instruments. I used to drive Volvo V70s but the Omega has considerably more space in it, the only problem being that the load floor is not flat. The problem will be what to replace it with once it finally dies
-
The problem will be what to replace it with once it finally dies. My sentiments exactly pitchfork :y This is my 2nd miggy estate before that I had a carlton 2.0 estate for 7 years, like everyone has said their carrying capacity is 2nd to none :y :y I can get all my and a mates carp fishing gear in it enough for a weeks fishing in france ,only other thing that will do that is a van
-
.... like everyone has said their carrying capacity is 2nd to none ......
They're not quite as big as a MkII Granada estate ;) ;)
