Title: no more KFC for me.
Post by: unlucky alf on 24 March 2010, 23:34:48
After reading this article, i cant see me going near a KFC again,,,,,http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1260286/KFC-diner-told-bacon-burger--halal.html
the way the birds are slaughtered is awful, all this to please the minorities is beyond a joke,
yes i know its from the mail but if you go to the KFC site there is a list of their establishments that are doing this along with a comments option,
personally i think its all wrong from the animal wellfare point of view. :( :(

Of 3 that I know locally I only travel to one of them which happens to be farest away.

Rotherham one has gone down hill and the stuff never seems fresh.

Centertainmant park (Sheffield) has been taken over by Indians that have an attitude problem and food isnt as good as it was.

But crystal peaks (Sheffield) allways busy, food is the best for miles, staff are brilliant and helpfull and they now take debit cards which is great as I never carry money.

Personally I think the only part that was wrong with this situation is it seems that it hasn't been made clear enough that they have gone halal.

To make it easier I would suggest a rebranding of the KFC mark to create a halal subsidiary with would make it easier to differentiate.  If market forces means peope want halal then why not?!  If you remain stuck in the mud and not open to their beliefs then you risk alienating a slice of the population that already feels hard done by within British society.  Integration means compromise, inflexible attitudes within our society isolates minorities and while I personally value and uphold British values if we keep minorities at an arms length we will never bring them to integrate with us.  And you just have to look back to the events of 7/7 to see what happens when you do that.

Besides, when I go to KFC it's to eat chichen....funnily enough  ::)

I demand bacon, enough of this halal 'dangle berries' they want it prepared in that way then they can open their own shops rather than sitting taking in benefits be-moaning the world treats them badly.
Sorry but this pisses me off when things like this are done, I have no problem with them following there faith but why should we be made to follow what they believe

Might I suggest a second "KFC HALAL" in some towns?

I have nothing against other cultures upholding their traditions however, personally, if given the choice, I'd rather eat meat that has been slaughtered using modern methods.

For this reason also, I think it should be made clear what I am eating.

All this is getting out of hand!!!!
I read on here that in years to come we will be subjected to Sharia Law, when I read that I laughed, but when you see things like this, it may just well come true.
Like the headline in the Sun was on election day when Neil Kinnock was up for PM ' Will the last person out of Britain please turn off the lights' seems more appropriate now.
The trouble is I think we are all to afraid to stand up to these people, myself included. :'( :'( :'(

With being on a 'budget', I`m always checking out the yellow labels on near-to-date items at my local supermarket and noticed the huge amount of meat packages labelled Halal in the "cheap/reduced" section.....I asked and was told that as a matter of inclusion-policy they have to stock it, but nearly all ends up getting binned as generally there are a only a really-tiny minority of customers who buy Halal at a supermarket and the customers of other faiths wont buy it as they don`t like the way animals are treated to make it Halal.

....I hate waste. :(

Interesting poiny - BUT.  If they want to buy into a brand name that has been there for years then fine, If they dont want it for what it is, then dont buy into it.

What puts me off these places is the fact they seem to reduce the ammount of light in the shops and for this reason  (To Me) it makes the places look unclean.   :-/

I have never, and will never use KFC; don't like chicken particularly! ::) ::) :P

But, if this story is true and not an attempt yet again by the Mail to exaggerate a small news item, then it is a very bad move by KFC.

I am sure Jews would not expect a non-Jewish eating house to stop eating bacon and provide a complete Kosher food service, so why is another (lesser) UK religion being given special treatment? >:( >:( >:( >:(

Has anyone considered that becoming Vegetarians would resolve the whole issue (Thinking outside the box) ::)

Nice idea. When someone succeeds in cooking me a vegetable beef Wellington that's as good as the real thing I'll happily convert. :y
