Put them together if it helps any one.

Should be similar to and close to, N 56° 21.722 W 003° 14.390
-
Well, I get 550 N and 299 W but not sure I'm following the same logic as the author.

Would be tempted to say
56o21.395N
3o13.200W
But that gives us some numbers left over. :-/

Unlike yourself, I know I'm fallible! ;D
Knew it was the resistance colour markings, just had difficulty doing the mathematics of the sums and was ending up with a pile of garbage at the end that was not even a vague resemblance of useful! ;) :y

by any chance is this a geocaching puzzle? sounds like the sort of thing that gets used for them

As far as making clear initial postings goes, that's quite apparent. ::)
I took it that this was some kind of brain teaser to which there would be a clever but rather obvious answer once it had been explained. Instead, it transpires that this is something you have been working on and were requesting input from other OOFers.

too much mathematics for a sunday moning ;D

Didn't realise that I or anyone else had to stipulate a reason for posting up a thread, guidelines included....
Keep posts relevant, short, and on topic, especially on Help threads, and meeting organisation threads. General Chat is the only area where we expect things will go off at a tangent!
Keep titles relevent, and not just 'Help me' etc. Not everybody has time to read every thread.
Yes, it is a brain teaser. Yes, there is a 'smart' answer, in as much as its a set of latitude/longditude coords.
Is it a requirement that any post must be either include 'help, I dont have a clue' or 'help, I have a half a clue but would like others to also pass time on an otherwise boring Saturday evening on OOF?'....
Think perhaps you are picking nits but, each to their own.... ;D
ps - thanks for the help, those that did. Appreciated. :y

Most definately agreed on the lame, non-specfic "I have a problem" or "Help Needed" type headings, they're most annoying, but there's a fair bit of a difference between a brain teaser that requires a little 'lateral thinking', and something that requires a further chart to have any hope of getting anywhere.
The "You mean you don't actually know...?!? " was a lighthearted comment, but your response indicates you are still completely unaware of how irrellevant a "brain teaser" that would be to 95% of OOFers.
I'm all for getting the 'old grey matter' working. Even if I haven't a clue what the answer is, when all is revealed it's usually a case of "Ah right, very clever !" ...but give us half a chance. :y
