Title: Reported to eBay
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 30 March 2010, 17:02:51
I had an ebay message from the guy I bought my HDi Estate from.

Quote
"Hiya mate, if u get a message to cancel the transaction just go along with it, its just so I don't have to pay any final value fees, lol"

Not liking this - I chose to ignore it.

I have now had an email from eBay, saying I have an "outstanding case" and if I don't resolve it within 7 days, I will get an unpaid item strike!

The sellers text states the transaction has been cancelled - extra info: "Broke down".

I have forwarded his message to eBay, and reported him for fee circumvention, because he's out of order  :(

Precisely why the majority of ebay sellers are scummers....

Stuff him Young Un.
You bought the car in Good Faith. And paid all the same. He is trying to get out of paying the Bay, Why should you get a strike because he is as dodgy as a Nine Bob Note.
Respond to the Bay in the strongest possible terms and show them what he has written to you.
He will not be selling much on eBay for much longer.
Well, not until he makes up another user name and  different credit card details.

Oh, and remember to leave poor feedback - remember under Ebay's rules, he cannot leave anything but positive feedback for you ;)

Who moans ebay's fees are extortionate?  If you don't like the fees ;). Trust me, its cheaper than a proper website, or a retail outlet, but we live in a world where many people expect to be able to get whatever they want for free  >:(

But those same people expect to be paid handsomely!  E-bay IS a business, which has one aim to make a profit.

If people do not like the fees do what I do; do not use them! :D :D ;)

They are actually reasonably competitive - contact your local Bank, and ask the small business department for details on merchant services ;)

I would not bother, now that is EXTORTIONATE. I had to have them in the pubs, monthly charges were silly.

My point being that as a merchant service for small businesses/consumers, Paypal ain't so bad ;)

I am starting to get a bit fed up of Ebays charges to be honest.....

Recently sold a PS3 with games and got just under £300 for it......

Looked on my sellers invoice and bloody Ebay had charged me £38 in fees......

PLUS....I had to wait up to 21 days or until positive feedback left before I got the money in my Paypal account......

 :o

PS3, like laptops and mobiles, ebay/paypal (rightly) put extra restrictions on sellers getting their money, due to these type of items being used by scammers.
