Title: What to do
Post by: Elite Pete on 03 April 2010, 12:59:56
I sold my 2.2 DTi a couple of weeks ago by putting it on Ebay and stipulated that it had to be off my drive by the 31st March because I need the space. The person buying the car put the money in my account about a week ago and asked if he could leave the car with me until today and he said he would call me to tell me morning or afternoon when he would arrive. As yet i've had no call and I need the drive tomorrow to do some work, so do I put the car on the road and risk it being towed by the Police as it has no tax, mot or insurance and who would get the fine for the car being on a public road?  ::)

Don't know what you mean ;D

The V5C hasn't arrived yet. I had to fill out a V62 because the car didn't come with V5C when I bought it so I would say mine.

Still your responsibility then  :(

If he had signed then V5 as well, and just waiting on collection, i would have stuck it on the road.

Give him a final deadline before the car is re-sold?  :-/

Do you not have a friendly neighbour who will let you park on their drive?

The neighbours are pretty poxed off with me already. I've got 3 Omegas and a 4th on its way and the Rover but the drive can only hold 2 cars so the road is full of my rubbish plus I have other peoples cars at the house while I work on them so I dont want to risk a smack in the mouth ;D

We have a Netto just over the road, so I asked the store manager if he'd mine me sticking a couple of cars on there occasionally. He was fine with it. Anything similar close by?
