Title: Willyboy
Post by: Marks DTM Calib on 27 November 2009, 20:03:02
It is with great regret that I have to inform you all of the passing of one of our members, Willyboy.

As many will know, Bill had been suffering for some time with cancer of the pancreas and during October, we learned of the sad news that this had spread to other organs in his body.

On the 18th of November Bill passed away peacefully.

He joined the Omega Owners Forum in April of 2007 and was ever present with offering advice and help where ever he felt he could whilst, his sense of humor served to lighten many posts.

On behalf of the OOF members, Admin and the Moderator team, I have forwarded a card to Aileen, his widow.

Regards

The OOF Moderator and Admin Team

Met Willy at the first house invasion & at subsequent York meets with his lovely wife & nutty dog. Despite his discomfort he made the effort to attend meetings & bless us with his company & always had a smile on his face.
I've got a lump in my throat, we ALL love you mate.

I`m so terribly saddened to read of Bill`s passing and of Eileen`s loss.

Rest peacefully willyboy.....thankyou Sir.

May I take the opportunity to thank Mark for passing on the collective OOF member`s and admin`s condolences to Bill`s family.

Our thoughts and sympathies go out to his family who have to suffer the loss, albeit probably with a little relief that his suffering is now over. :( :(

Very sad and upsetting news without doubt, my most sincere condolences to Bill's family

Remember me when I am gone away,
gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
you tell me of our future that you planned:
Only remember me; you understand
it will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
and afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
a vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
better by far you should forget and smile
than that you should remember and be sad.

Hello everyone
This is Billy's wife Aileen, i see that a card has been sent but as yet not arrived. But thanks anyway for your kind words.
His funeral was as nice an occasion as it could be, the vicar was very humorous. Our daughter Joanne had written a Eulogy of her dads life which we thought he would make notes from. He read it aloud word for word, although his interpretation was funnier.
Joanne had written about his fellow Omega owners, he said fellow Omega sufferers!
Of course sad occasion as it was we all laughed out loud!
He was a lovely man and made it all a very nice service, i'm sure Billy would be pleased.

Kind Regards
Aileen

On behalf of the assorted admins, moderators and members of the forum I would once again pass our most sincere condolences personally to you, and your family and friends, at this difficult time.  It is most appreciated that you have taken the time to let us know that, even on a difficult day, laughter was heard.  I take personal strength from that.  Thank you ...

Billy/Willyboy will be missed in more ways than one.  At home as well as in the company of the many friends that had the privelage to know him both personally and 'online' here on the Omega Owners (or sufferrers!) Forum.

Take care and stay safe....

Broocie and all on OOF.   :y

Sorry to drag up an old post but i was searching to see the outcome for Billy as i mustve missed the post when it was put up.

RIP Billy!  :-[ Might sound strange, but i think of him everytime i use my cam locking kit  :-/ such a sad loss and after spending past few minutes reading through this thread you really get a feel for what a genuine person he was.

Again, sorry for pulling up and old post, just felt that i had to in some way say something.
