Title: The people on this forum.
Post by: STMO999 on 09 April 2010, 20:40:34
I was humbled by Robs thread with reference to his good news, and then shocked to realise that Phil had been going through a similar experience.

I take my hat off to you, Guys, and to quite a few others I know have been through horrendous medical problems.
I'm not sure that I could keep my spirits up the way you fellas do.
Having to put up with my juvenile ramblings without so much as a cross word, and contributing fully to the forum, whilst obviously in extreme discomfort.

You have my admiration and my very best wishes.

With very nearly 8000 registered members (ok .. maybe 300 really active ones ) there are bound to be many with personal problems/difficulties/health issues/family issues  .. call em what you will .. that most of us never realise .. it is either an advantage of t'internet anonimity or a disadvantage .. depending purely on your viewpoint.

Some speak out, some keep quiet, either way .. I wish everyone what they wish themselves ... :y :y :y

True... We all forget sometimes :-[ :-[

SWMBO and I have had our fair share of difficult medical problems in the last few years, which some people are aware of, but it's nothing compared to those of others.

I've been looking at this thread develop and really really don't know what to say .......... So here goes .........

Firstly, and sincerely, thankyou.

All you do, IMHO, is take it one day/step at a time, taking what you think are the right decisions along the way. The words of Sinatra's "my way" spring to mind ....

Having rebuilt (well the insides) of an old Mig has certainly kept my mind off things whilst a former member (now "persona non grata") did the "hard stuff" like suspension/brakes etc. Rebuilding 5 sets of heated leather for other OOFers also made the summer months pass quicky whilst in between jobs.

True - I don't always agree with what's said here  - but heck, life would be pretty boring if we all thought the same wouldn't it?

Time for beer # 3 now I think. Hobgoblin this time  :y

Just got round to reading this, so apologies for it being so late. STMO, whilst I really appreciate the sentiment mate  :-*, don't you dare go all soft 'n' cuddly on us!, because it's your irreverent, cantankerous, bloodyminded, & foulmouthed  callousness (have I left anything out?) that we have all come to love and respect expect . It's one of the things that makes me get up with a smile in the morning, wondering what to expect next! :y ;D ;D ;D ;)
