Title: This is going around a few forums
Post by: Del Boy on 09 April 2010, 21:37:55
Have been asked by BMW owners and a couple of other forums to spread this around, an Escort cosworth has been stolen possibly the cleanest one around.

Anyway here's the for sale add: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1597565.htm

If anyone knows anything you get the jist  :y :y

I just hope the owner gets it back, it's gorgeous  :o

I do hope so, it's such a shame someone could do that to what is clearly someone's pride and joy  >:(

My car valeter has lost his 3 series coupe today........

It was up for sale, 2 blokes came round to look at it and he let them take it for a test drive unaccompanied........

Never seen it since......

No, seriously......!!!

I feel sorry for the cossie owner, but being the person I am allways wonder in situations like this one.  Owner out of the country with a car that might never fetch £35+K and gets stolen.  Insurance company will deffo not pay out on this car without a full investigation.

Sorry if my point of view comes accross the way, but hey, that's me.  ::)

Surely the owner of the Cossie had a TRACKER on it, a car that clean and RARE and it was not tracked. HHmmmmm.
As for the Coupe owner, stupid idiotic and downright silly. And I doubt he will get insurance money for that, giving I say GIVING the keys to a complete stranger.
What a POOOLLLOOONNNNKKKKEEEERRRR

it's a '92 cosworth he's managed to keep clean and he thinks it's now worth £35k? good luck getting insurers to give you 10% of that  :(

Surely his insurance company (cossie) would have insisted on a tracker being fitted as part of the cover, these cars were unisnurable at one point unless they had tracker - My Aston had more than one fitted!

If a 67,000 miler is worth 17k then I think his is going to be worth a lot more than three. ::)
Any Escort Cosworth is worth a lot more than 3k.

Thats only worth 17K if someone pays it.

Lets face it,  They made the Coswrth Sierra, we had the Lotus Carlton/Omega.
Thay built the Cosworth Escort, Vx were smart, they didnt do a Lotus Vectra.

I dont even know if the Cossie Escort is FWD or RWD if it's front then will be too much power any way, or did they make them as 4WD

Either way, 17K and 35+K is only achieved if somebody wants it.

If a Lotus Carlton with 8K on the clock was adtised for £35K would it sell.....in all cases, probably only to lottery winners who dont bother to haggle.

Yep, I know Sierra Cossies were rwd initially, then did a 4x4 when the Sapphire Cosworth came out

There is a special market for cars like this, I'm 99% sure he'd get the £35k for it when the right buyer comes along  :y Or should I say would've  :(
