JC's piece in the Times this week was pulled before publication.

Can we not say not anything about anyone these days for fear of upsetting the PC class?

Very good - have started circulating that one
-
He should move to Herefordshire and be exempt from the madness of the 20th (21st) century.
Its lovely and green and city madness is far, far away.
That may explain why half of London, Devon, Cheshire and the like are moving here ;D
Alternatively, buy something wonderful (and cheap) in the Tatra mountains and retire....
-
I hate to stand up and be counted, but unfortunately I have to in regard to this article.
"GUILTY AS CHARGED, M'LUD."
-whatever next????
-
It just goes to prove that one cannot have an opinion in this country that offends the minority. Majority of people, I think, have the same views, all be it not as radical/ eloquent as JC.
:-X

Since when have they moved Devon and Cheshire to the City? :D :D

I'm not surprised the article was pulled. Fancy suggesting strapping Meddlesome to a van?
What, exactly, is wrong with the Space Shuttle? ;)
...Or a submarine. Perhaps the Trident project is not a white elephant after all? ;D

I found myself, rather worryingly, agreeing to his every word.
Right, lets go hire a van!
-
As was said by a contributor later on: He has the knack of putting into words what everyone else is thinking.
I found that article somewhat mild. I'm sure I could do better but, of course, you'd never get to read it.

It is crazy here at present, all the old previous "get away from London" areas are getting ever more commuterised/townified/full of Tarquins and Tabithas and are full of people trying to escape and buy in rural Herefordshire/Powys away from the commuters/townies/T&Ts.
Perhaps I didn't word it that well ;)
Perhaps we could make it the "Republic of Herefordshire and Powys".
Plenty of vans for hire ;D ;D

JC is often a pillock, but speaks his mind. Often more correct on these matters than cars, mind :-?

they didn't pull it Nickbat, it's still online - didn't buy the paper so couldn't tell you if they ran it in print or not tho.
Very funny as ever, and he's right - where else are you going to live? :y

i read JC regularly in TG magazine and the times - he's said some much more controversial stuff tbh ;)

They did pull it, but it was put back online (presumably because word got out).

I like Clarkson. He can be a tad over dramatic at times but i'm guilty of same. One of his books "I know you've got soul" is quotes from his press column & a hilarious read.
RE Mancleson & the van, could we upgrade that to a proper truck? ...i might be able to help!!! :y

:o you're right - November 09 :y
although in fairness, sometimes papers run the same column more than once....so maybe it was due to be rerun and dropped for being a bit contentious with an election looming? :-?

Yes, I see that. My apologies for aiding and abetting the false "hot news" line! :-[ :-[
Quite odd, though. Cranmer is normally very up-to-date. I notice one of his commenters has pointed out the date discrepancy.
Still, it's always good to read JC's take, even if it is a few months old. :y
BTW, breaking news: we've just beaten Germany in the World Cup. ;) ;D
