... Do you get to £10 worth of normal unleaded...with general running around ? And What do you drive?
My 2.0 GLS Auto is doing 40 miles tops to £10
-
well £20 normally gives me 100 miles in the 3.0 mv6 auto so i guess £10 is 50 :-/
However a lengthy "motorway cruise" last sunday got 150miles from my £20 so i guess 75 for £10.
Proves driving at 80mph rather than 30 saves time and money :)

Thats less than 20mpg James, something not right there. But you knew that already ::)
-
You've just got me thinking, when I had my 2.0l transit in Liverpool, many, many moons ago, I use to put £3 in and run around in it all day ;D

Same car and i'm around 60miles to £10 on general usage which is a mix of the 3 miles to work and the short blasts along the a89 to my mother in laws
I wasn't getting much better in the 1987 1.6 ford escort i just go shot of :D

Refilled today with £22 of V-max and had done 110 miles on the trip.
Works out at 22 ish miles to the gallon, allowing for v-max at 97p/litre.

£50 - £55 gets me on average £350 - £380 in the MV6, but I don't do many motorway runs in it now...

Mostly motorway James... driving the Senny all i think about is switching my Omega for a 3.2 Elite ::)
That will have to wait till i am earning money again!
I suspect i will get around 360 miles from this current tank... which includes lots of town runs and a blast to Chipping Norton with 4 people on board.
I am budgeting 350 miles per tank when in Europe.
-
here is a good example, run to Birmingham Airport and back, 80 mph there, 70mph back, the Senator averaged 31.6mpg....
The Omega did around 35 ish.... not much more considering the lack of power :(
-
Hmm im starting to get slighty worried then as i get 40 miles ish to a tenner (town driving mostly) in the 2.5 estate however it has one of those bloody awful gear stick things that constantly needs moving. >:(
With a full tank £55 ish in the Elite (3.0 auto) i always and i do mean always get just over 250 miles to the tank...thats regardless of town work or dual carriage way work, that really worries me. ;D
-
I was getting 125miles for a Tenner on motorway runs and about 100miles for a tenner around town. But i think my Gas system is iffy at the mo and i am getting alittle less these days. Also Depends on how i drive ::)
Never reallt ran the car on petrol for long enough to say what the MPG is.

A tenner gets me roughly 100miles of country road blast :y
Filled up today, £38 - Shouldn't need filled up for another 400-450 8-)
I'm gonna be stuffed when I buy a bigger car with a bigger engine ;D

Roughly £20 - 200 miles - from a V6!!
That Corsa is expensive ;D
-
I get 0 miles from £10 worth of diesel, coz the bloody thing gets down the road and blows its coolant....

I've never tried a maximum mileage run Martin. That's 100 miles of twisty country road with lots of revs, so I'm not sure what a V6 would see to that. The acid test surely would be Markie giving me a loan of his car for a weekend ;)

Sounds like my commute, twisty roads lots of throttle.

Yeah, but the Corsa probably has a big boot by the time you have lost most of yours on that tank.
-
What do you mean by the above statement? :-/
-
What do you mean by the above statement? :-/
He means that coverting a car to LPG results in loosing some of your boot, usually a big chunk. A decent size tank is around 70L and takes up a large part of the boot, were as your Corsa boot is empty.
However having driven the Corsa C and passed my test in it, i would never drive one again (no offence intended) its just me being 6ft4 i don't get on well with them ;) ;D

yup i'm 5ft 9ish and struggle with corsa's too :) mainly to do with having wee legs and long body by head continually bumped off the roof unless the drivers seat was virtually laid out flat

Yup left a lot of my hair in the roof lining ::)
For me it was the lack of an adjustable steering wheel column, no doubt due to the poverty spec BSM heap, not sure if other models come with them? :-/
I could shuffle the steering wheel with my legs! ;D (literally!)
Well built little motors though and nippy just not for me! :y
-
yeah they are pretty nippy about the doors, just a pain in the bum to fit in :D
-
between plymouth and nottingham i never see more than 27.5 mpg!!!
I fill up and by the time i am at the other end i have killed 3/4 of a tank, the run is 255 miles door to door........
i have got used to it now, its a by-product of owning a car that is comfortable and cruises at a nice speed
BTW it never takes me more than a few hours to get from home to nottingham and vice versa :y

With 20quid i would do 120miles with mixed driving and mixed driving style, this was with my 2.5 omega manual v6. In the very cold winter it would drop to arround 110. Now with the Alfa i do about 90 but it is more economic car on the motorway.
-
2.2 Round town 110 miles.
85mph for 100 miles = 140 on Shell V Power - 29.5 mpg, fully laden with passengers, cot, suitcases and shopping. >:(

About a third - I still got 5 chairs. a coolbox, a pump up boat, video tripod beach mats, frisbees, toolbox, camera bag ect ect in there last year :y

Too much boot to lose....

Of course! Using the gas...that's cheating!! ;D
It's a Corsa B I have, still not massive inside, but im only 5' 6" ;D
Nippy for sure, but it's not ideal in the comfort/refinement stakes!! :-/

My best,
601 miles, from a 2.5 v6 Omega full to the brim.
Doing a steady 52mph all the way!!

Eeek! Probably spent more on caffeine trying to stay awake I guess!
It was painful enough trying to keep the speed down for 120 miles of towing on tuesday.

Can get 380-400 mixed miles to £32 worth of gas :) Probably helps that I've got a proper gearbox ;)
Lowest I've had from a tank was 280 miles (~18 MPG almost as bad as my BMW on that trip lol), most of that was to and from Nevis range, 4 up with 3 snowboards on the roof rack, all twisty B-roads and most upshifts were done over 6,000 RPM -- well I did manage to overtake about 15 cars on the way back! That was great fun although I did feel like the car could do with a little more power, I momentarily hit the rev limiter a few times trying to wring that last few horses out on overtakes :o
