The State versus the common man. Expect to see much more of this in the future as the State becomes even larger and more autocratic.  >:( >:(

A spokesman for HMRC said he could not comment on individual cases, but said no one would ever be fined for "making an honest mistake".

But who is the judge and jury ?  >:(

I have been fighting a 4 year battle with Tax Credits office because they say we owed them £2300 in overpaid credits.

Last week I proved that it was their error that had caused all this (and that we hadn't been overpaid) and they have written the whole amount off.

If you persist and have a solid case you can take them on and win :y

A very high percentage of the population will sit at home, read that, then wind themselves up with rage over the fact they are having the piss taken out of them

But you know what makes me laugh (and despair sometimes) the most?

Of all of those that are truly enraged, only 1% actually possess the gonads to create a protest and stand up and be counted.

Nu Labia worked that out when they came to power though, that's why we now have 4,300 NEW laws that are simply a repeat of the existing ones (the new laws just make it easier to take your dosh).

At one point they had SWMBO working a 37 hour week for an income of NIL ::) The system is only as good as the information that is entered into it :-/ :-/
