Zoom-in, click on a yellow`plane and you`ll see it`s squalk ID and a track of it`s route from airport of origin.

I watched an A320 fly over here today at low-level/slow speed (very unusual for a commercial airliner to be here in Snowdonia) and using the flight tracker `found it`s origin was Kansas City......after I saw it, I tracked it landing at Hawarden (Nr. Chester).
A very odd route; I`m guessing it was repatriating Airbus staff caught up in the trans-Atlantic backlogs.

Fascinating! :y :y :y :y

Flight CJA9800 is very interesting.  As I write this it is off the East coast of England, with no airline, destination are airport of origin shown.  It has flown via Greenland and very close to South Iceland and the volcano. It is currently flying at 41,000 feet.  High altitude for a commercial plane.

Military or civilian test aircraft? :-/ :-/ :-/

Theres a 777 and 767 coming over Ireland and it looks like they just diverted the 777 to land the 767 first, both are on route to heathrow.

now it's going in the wrong direction....... :-/

From the news reports this evening it seems BA have many airliners in the air aimed at UK airports and are going to attempt to get permission to land. :D :D ;)

Willie Walsh has obviously had enough of the authorities that has kept his expensive fleet gounded! ::) ::) :D ;)

Looks like their negotiating a landing. They're still at 35,000 feet. Remember, these all took off from North America with an ETA after 1900 when LHR was supposed to be opening. Methinks Willie Walsh is getting pretty irate about this.

Big fall out from this. Like I said, the BA flights took off with the expectation of 19.00 reopening of LHR/LGW. Being told you can't land in your home country but you can land a couple of hundred miles away (allegedly under the same cloud of fairy dust volcanic ash), must be pretty galling, not just to WW, but also the pax and crew.  :(

Shannon Airport has said it is preparing for up to 11 British Airways flights arriving from the United States between 7pm and 9pm tonight.

From: Radio Teelevis Eireann

How come Shannon, Brussels and Paris have less of this ash than LHR?

 ::) ::) ::)

That's all? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yes they all seem to be landing there so far.

Looks like Willie's run at the blockade...........remember that song "one thousand screaming trucks planes.........." is defeated! :'( :'(

Well they can afford to pay the missus a butt-load for being stuck.  At United they dont get paid until they have closed the doors and started taxiing even though they have to check-in for briefing 2 hours prior (remember that next time you ask for a pre-flight drink) and the flight clock stops when they check-in at their hotel at the other end.  They then go onto a lower rate for their layover until they close the doors on the return flight and taxi out when they go back onto flying pay rates.  She also gets a hotel and $80/day for expenses.  Additionally she is guaranteed the flight hour pay for the 2 flights she should have worked since she got stuck even though she is still being paid for the first flight (plus daily expenses)  Awesome!

She's buying dinner when she gets back  ;D ;D ;D

That flight from Vancouver has been  around and around the Isle of Man, and now  as you say Debs is flying over North Wales.  He must be getting low on fuel by now, so the authorities must let him land ::) ::)

This BA flight Callsign BAW74 is still circling Guernsey / North West France 1 hour after I first noted it! :( :o :o

Yet another BA flight that has been challenged tonight, with thousands of wasted gallons of fuel, extra CO2 emissions, hundreds of disgruntled passengers, a very upset Willie Walsh, and much political fall out to come! :'( :'( :'(

What!  BA flight Callsign BAW84 has yet again done a U turn, near Birmingham this time, and is heading North West for the untold time!! :o :o :o

Does anyone know how much fuel would now be left on this plane from Vancouver? :-/ :-/

PS Remember this flight was first noted circling the Isles of Man at 1929 this evening; almost two hours ago, after flying to that point from Vancouver! :o :o

Hope so Debs for their sake.  How much fuel will be left on that plane Debs?

The web site for Heathrow still shows a sad picture:

I do not think it did Mike as it is only now that Heathrow is opening (as planned), with many Heathrow bound BA flights forced to touch down earlier in Ireland :( :(

So, it was unsafe to land earlier, but two hours later, it's fine. Yeah, right. ::)

I think those planes that landed in Shannon are now taking off for LHR. Looks like it to me, anyway.

Would make sense to have them back as soon as possible. It'll take the airlines days and days to get everything back to normal.
