It's all to do with the European Convention on Human Rights. We are no longer a sovereign country. We are effectively ruled by Brussels. You can shout as much as you like about this ruling but the UK courts are powerless.
Remember this fact when you vote on May 6th. ;)

there is no appeal as its a Supreme Court ruling, Skruntie - you can only appeal on matters of european law as far as i know :o
what i don't understand is that even with the Human Rights act - there is still scope for exceptions in cases of potential public harm - why wouldn't these cases come under that exclusion? :(

I agree LZ, that's an absolute disgrace!!

Correct, so what does that tell you ??? ::) ::) ::)
I am very aware of what it says to me... :-X

Being able to apply to be deleted is not the same as being deleted.
There are some people who have been wrongly convicted of sex crimes and I would hope that they could not only apply but be successful.

Wasn't it the Common Market, which then became the EEC, then the EC and at some point the EU.
Heath knew he was lying when he told the British people that there would be no loss of sovereignty if we joined. He also knew that if he told the British people the TRUE nature of the Europe political project they would have rejected it in the only referndum we have ever had.
And politicians ever since, of every political stripe, have lied to us about the true intent of Europe even though we can see with our own eyes exactly what is happening. That is why they won't give us a referendum now.

Register for life? Prison for natural life & i don't mind paying a little more to keep them in misery & threat of violent retribution which they well deserve.
The sex offenders register should not exist where children are concerned. One strike & out, throw away the key, no if's of buts, they'll always be a risk to our children because they're deviants. Simple as. >:( ::)
