Actually St. George is related to Cem & was not English at all......
Born into a noble Christian family in the late third century in Cappadocia, an area which is now in Turkey. He followed his father's profession of soldier and became part of the retinue of the Emperor Diocletian. The emperor ordered the systematic persecution of Christians and George refused to take part. In 303, he was himself tortured and executed in Palestine

Thoughts from a Scot. Not anti-English, but a well-written account of our (English) predicament.

Most apposite on this day.  :y

Well my antecedents are Dutch, Scots, Protestant Irish, Romany & most recently Belgian & French, but I consider myself to be British because that's what it says on my passport.

I agree with Nick.  :o
Fly your flag - it's only deemed racist or xenophobic if you allow it   8-)

don't let racists, thugs and morons claim it as their own - if they tried that with the saltire they'd get a swift boot up the @rse  >:(
