Now there's a subject for you to debate.
I know of a woman (28 years old) 1st 2 kids to different Fathers, 2nd 2 to a different Father. Eldest is a girl and it seems this woman in question doesnt like girls.
Reckons to have Catholic beliefs and wont use precautions, sleeps arround when it suits but uses all the benifits on hoosehold electrical items like a TV every year from these places that charge mega interest, as soon as she pays one off buys another item rather than just save till she can afford it, or dare Isay, spend it on the children and put them 1st. Which is what I thought the benfits were for.

well i got made reduntant but can only get 60 quid a week so i dont bother and do any job i can to pay mortgage.
but the big benefit for me is having my 2 year old daughter on my knee, discovering worms in the garden, just spending time with her, loads of hugs and the big burst of pride when she shouts daddy instead of mummy.
you dont reliase what you miss when you work all the time
the downside is we just had the water bill and no money to pay it

now u see R1 is genuine... all these "scavs" (i really couldnt find a better word for them) that push out kids more often than taking a breath jus to get more benefits, bigger council house and more luxuries jus dont deserve the help. As for the person u know skruntie... sounds like she doesnt deserve the benefits... she is bringing it on her self and its people like her that are giving this country a "lazy" image.

being capable of making children doesnt mean you have the responsibility and economic power required..
not much related to the subject I know but I wanted to say that..

dont get me started on this too!!!
It isnt all about immigration or afghanistan or taxation. Fact is this election is where politics matters again because the majority of people are either financially hurting or worried and disillusioned or both.Only 60% bothered to vote last time-cant see it happening this time. Misuse of the benefits system is right up there with all the other issues as far as I am concerned and I am not talking about immigrants here. I am sure that there are indeed some people who are missing out on claiming what they are entitled to but I know of more than a few who screw the system as Skruntie has said. I once really angered my dad (who on the whole imparted to us a sense of socialism and equality) by saying that I felt that if a woman continued to have babies that had to be taken into care because-for whatever reason-she could not look after them, then she should be steralized. A breach of her human rights no doubt and a bit Hitlertarian, but ffs it is the state and you and I as taxpayers have to bring that child up. Do you know how much money the state is prepared to spend on some lazy individuals in order to keep the child with the parent/s and avoid putting them into care? How many second/third/fourth chances they get because they cannot look after/clean/feed their own? How they are provided with houses/toys/clothes/pushchairs even cleaning services. How many social workers are involved and at what rate? Some of these people have mental problems, some are just ignorant and need to be taught parenting skills. But most? Most are just scrounging, lazy, b*stards >:( >:( >:(
see,now look youve gone and started Skruntie ;D

A Child is for LIFE... NOT Just For Benefits!!!!
Anybody who brings another life to this world without the means to support it (and "means" does NOT equal the taxpayer) needs sorting out to start with IMO.

What you see is only the tip of the iceberg..... :-X

There are tens, maybe hundreds of thousands of us who think exactly as you do Jerry, but we are outweighed by the liberal do gooders and apathetic 'i'm all right jack' tossers who are well off enough not to care who runs the Country into the ground, because they have enough to see them through the crap times, or have a vested interest in keeping things the way they are! It is well past time we had a citizens revolt with mass disobedience and refusal to pay Council Tax & the like until the Government in Power sits up & takes notice imo. :-/

Couldn't agree more. Spent almost a year almost unemployed (Worked about 3 days per month self employed) and loved every second with my fantastic babies.
Now im working 07:45 to 18:15, and, dont get me wrong, I feel like a more complete man now I can put food on my table, but im missing my kids so much every day it hurts.

I know what you mean, when Miss Vamps was 2 years old I was off work for 7 months due to illness, and I did enjoy the time I had with her at that young age. :y
imho many of the scroats who are living on benefits could not give a flying fig about spending their time with their, several, children. >:( >:(

this is another issue worth looking at re benefits. seems to me that there are those prepared to doss about on benefits with no intention of getting a job because "it isnt worth it financially" and many of those who do work are finding that both parents have to work in order to survive financially with the result that they dont have enough time with their kids. What did Blair do to help these working parents, oh yeh, he helped them with childcare so that the kids could go to surestart or preschool clubs and afterschool clubs. Our children are being institutionalized. Surely it should be "carrot and stick", benefits to allow a parent to stay at home with preschool children and then some "stick" to encourage them back into work afterwards. Havent heard any of the political parties mention this topic though...
