Just heard a woman on the talking to GB, discussing education, immigration, etc - very polite and respectful all round - unfortunately, he got into his car and forgot the radio pickup was still on him and went nuts at his aides for allowing him to speak to this woman who disagreed on immigration referring to her as "bigoted" - ooops - the fact that she may well be bigoted is of no concern ;D ;D ;D

Equally, she may not be bigoted.
You can actually have views on immigration without being a bigot, you know. ::)
-
I can see legislation against the media on the way. They have no scruples about how they play with issues like this.

Gordon Brown has dropped another clanger.................... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) :y :y
The real truth is coming out.
Can't wait for the 6th May!! :D :D ;)

Joking aside, the Election race has now become very interesting.
Has it now become a definitive two horse race between technically the two oldest political parties in the land.
As a student of History and Politics I am rather excited that for the first time in my life time the UK may well see the return of Conservative and Liberal Parliamentary battles, as last seen before the Great War, with the "new kid on the block" Labour out of the main running 8-) 8-) 8-)
Yes it will be a new Lib-Dem party as oppossed to the Liberals, that rose out of the 19th century Conservative power house, but for me they are one and the same in so much of their political aims i.e. The Liberals of 1907 wanted social reform as oppossed to building even more Dreadnoughts as the Conservatives (except Churchill) wanted; The Lib-Dems of 2010 want social reform instead of proceeding with a replacement for Trident, which the Conservatives wish to do 8-) 8-)
What an interesting political battle this has now become 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

as far as the election - I don't think it's going to damage Labour too much, they're already 3rd in most polls - what it may do is weaken GB's positon when it comes to hanging on in a Lib/Lab pact - I reckon Darling for pm, Cable as chancellor and Clegg will be given one of the other big cabinet posts.
But very very interesting times :o

Think you're forgetting the dangerous Mendleson

You obviously don't remember John Major's famous off-camera, on mic, gaffe when he called eurosecptics "bastards". No one called for legislation then and no one should call for it now. :(

I still get the feeling that every time something bad happens to Brown - it's Mandleson that comes out of it OK.....hmmmmm ::) ;D
You're right (Nick) Cleggy- he'd love to have the pm's power - but I think he must know no one really likes or trusts him doesn't he?
-
oh god - he's just gone round to her house to apologise in person - he'll probably boot her cat throught the telly by mistake or something :o :-/ ;D

This just goes to show the man is a total moron -i doubt there is a single person in this country* that would not give him a grilling over some aspect of his polices, and yet he is surprised by this

come on - you've never muttered something about someone after meeting them? you're tired, stressed, exasperated - i don't believe you. maybe GB's big failing is that he's too human, i don't think on reflection he'll view Mrs Duffy as a bigot, and he'll cringe - but no harm done :y

watchin the beeb news channel, the press are like a pack of hyenas at a carcass - disgusting - leave that pensioner alone please >:(

Exactly.. so what was striking to me is not that he called her a Bigot (un called-for, IMHO, but who hasn't muttered something about someone under their breath and (when believed to be!) out of earshot?).
What was striking was about how incapable he was of providing plausible answers to the obvious questions she was asking. Has he really gone into this campaign without thinking about how to answer questions he'd so predictably be asked? ;D
Even this pitiful attempt was achieved only with prompting in the ear from his minder!

... and if this had been Cameron? I doubt you would have been so forgiving.

anyone remember walter wolfgang when he disagreed with jack straw at a confernece. labour are not interested in your views. just your votes. they are a law unto themselves.
-

That has to apply to all political parties, surely? ::)
I think one should vote for the party that will will let him/her down the least - as being honest, you will get let down by whoever you vote for, should they come to power.
Brown - unelected bumbling buffoon, classically illustrated here!
Cameron - weak, but kind of likeable.
Clegg - bet he thinks he's th amutts at the moment, but he's about as British as sauerkraut.
All three want to stay in Europe - I bloody don't!
£45million a week (or is it a day?) to stay in the EU and we only get 9% of the vote. Are they quite mad? Well yes, obviously!
That money should go on schools, NHS, the forces etc.
Three choices for me, and none of them major parties.

of course pedro. but labour have been in power for 11 years and they dont even listen to there own advisors let alone the public. most politicians seem to be experts in every field there is yet blame everyone else but themselves when the shite hits the fan. i wouldnt pi$$ on one if he was on the floor burning to death. except nigel farage of course. ;D ;D

I don't support Brown - I'm just looking at it as a storm in a teacup. If it was Cameron I wouldn't be slagging him ::) ::) ::) ;)
actually - just saw it again on BBC and she says of european immigrants during the conversation "where are they flocking from?"
if Brown misheard, as he states he did, it would explain why he was angry and thought she was a bigot? ::)

Not a fan of any of them. They all lie to get elected.
Point is he's only human, the woman was probably being gobby, the comment was probably justified....
But who leaked it? ::)

He's only human? Are you sure? ;) ;D ;D
She wasn't being "gobby" at all.
As to the last bit, my answer would be a good journalist. ;) ;D ;D
I would agree though that they all lie to get elected and I wouldn't trust any of the three main parties with my vote. :y :y

I agree with Nick - she wasn't being gobby or bigoted - I still think GB misheard the word "flock" tho :y

Hmm. Dunno. Mind you when England play Scotland at Wembley we get a lot of flocking Scots down here. ;) ;D ;D ;D

you're a flocking disgrace - you bigot :y

well, I think thats the "walkabout, meet real people phase of the election over for Gordon" :)

I think Labour will spin that GB said he thought she was "spigoted", not "bigoted" because he thought she sounded a bit bunged up.
;) ;D
It's my original joke. Herewith copyrighted. :y

as a p.s. Max Clifford on 5Live "it would be quite easy for (Gillian Duffy) to make a quarter of a million pounds in the next few weeks.......... :o

Before you all get excited over the forthcoming erection..spell checker broken...Who really cares which one of the three, well two really gets in? We'll still have another four years of cock ups, lame excuses & blaming every one else. How many decades has this pattern followed? We need something new.
Sack the lot of them, everyone the whole she bang. Make them go to work in a real job. Hand parliament & the house of commons over to the national trust to take money as tourist attractions & let the Queen run the country with help & advice from the armed forces & a few proven dragons den types who really know commerce & trade unlike many career politicians with no life experience.
Yes it's an ill thought idea & probably flawed but it's a start & better than going over old ground yet again. ::)

so you want someone born to wealth, privileged upbringing from a long line of royalty to lead the country - advised by multimillionaire business people on health, housing, poverty, tax cuts for the super-rich............................hmm - why don't you just vote tory then? ::) ;D
