Gave the wife Audi 80 a bit of a clean up last night and made some signs up. £375, Bargain.
Took it to work today and left it with the signs on where I always leave my car, opposite a car sales. Came out at half 11 to find 'someone' had covered it with broken bricks and glass. I had left the roof on tilt so they had filled the interior up with brick dust and glass then completely doused it all with water.
Angry is an understatement to what I am feeling at the moment. No point in calling the old bill as im sure they wont do anything.
I was meant to be taking my babies to the farm this afternoon for a nice trip out, thats not going to happen now.
God, I just want to punch someone!

That's dispicable! :o
Do you have an idea who is was? >:(

Agreed....
As to who - my initial guess is the garage opposite, taking the hump that someone is selling next to their 'pitch'. Guessing its not a main dealer??
-
100% the garage near where it was parked! They were all standing around with a hose in their hand smirking at me.
-
Its not as though my car was competition. They sell circa 5k motors, how could a £375 Audi cause them sleepless nights!
-
Why would someone be so moronic as to do that? I'd go and talk to the car sales people, ask if they saw anything...it may be them, it may not be.
But I'd phone the police, Lincolnshire police's non emergency number is; 0300 111 0300
It would do good to get if officially reported.

Sorry, bit slow in my other reply...in that case it seems most likely to be them.
I'm a motor trader, and what would hurt me the most would be a visit from trading standards, refusal of a renewal of my trade plate licence or just bad press.
-
Spoke to a very nice lady on that number, thanks Joshwyatt. She reckons they've got CCTV in that area, but I honestly cant see them taking the time to look.
Trying to figure out ways of getting the garage back without resorting to damaging behaviour, drawn a blank so far, my mind keeps coming back to a dark night and a nail but I can guarantee I'd be caught, and tbh its just not in my nature.
-
Did you take a few pics of the car?
My course of action would be to go into the garage and ask if the saw anything (to which they will say "No"), then just say that you'll be speaking to the police and letting the local press know so they can highlight the problem of anti-social behaviour in the area (nudge, nudge).
Really do feel for you, though. I'd be beside myself and seeing those garage monkeys smirking at me would have made me incandescent with rage. It's quite clear to me that they were involved.

Dead easy.
Get your mates to go for some F1 style tewst drives in thier cars and lay some rubber, nice exspensive car, srub a couple of wheels parking it up, stuff em.
On the test drive make sure they leave a dead kipper under the seat. :y :y :y May need a passenger sat in the back behinnd the saleman for that. ::)
-
im sorry but i would be down there concealed and seriously scratching and brake fluiding roofs and bonnets one night,im sick of hearing about and experiencing decent people getting the shit end of the stick and ripped off while certain people in this country are living the life of riley >:( >:(
-
Hire a farmer to spray pig
sh manure all over their stock! >:(
-
Revenge is a dish best served cold. Clean the car, get it spotless again and get it sold. Then when everyone has forgotten about this I would suggest some serupticious retribution that cannot be linked back to you.
I myself prefer the dead kipper under the front bumper method. I was victim to not-so-funny prack from a rather nasty colleague. I did nothing for months, and then when he was away for several weeks during which time I was moving to another job I struck. He didn't find it for weeks and by the time he figured out it was me I was well gone :y
-
I agree with gaffers, strike now and it is obvious who did it.

by smirking at squeely theyve made it quite obvious who done it

I agree
Squirt some cod liver oil in the air vents, and wait for all the stray moggies to turn up. ::)

Do they have a website? Be interesting to see what vehicles they sell, and if I recognise any of them from auction etc.

Funny you should say that:

Personally, I would go and see the proprietor and see what he says.
Plenty of garages have monkeys working for them, some are nice honest workers, some are total idiots.
But my first port of call would be proprietor, and chase up the police regarding possible CCTV. Mention to the proprieotr CCTV footage is being sourced and the local police have been notified.
Brick dust, broken glass etc...that could help you out. Is there a local builders yard, where the material could have come from?
Is it possible that round the back of the car sales place those materials could be stored?
Tie the materials to them, and you're sorted.
I would pursue it, your chattels have been subject to damage and someone is liable, it's now just the matter of proving it was them.

if yes , night time a dress with hood will solve ( I use cctv by the way) [smiley=evil.gif]

I think all this talk about illegal acts of retribution is highly irresponsible. Whilst you may think that the garage workers were behind the damage to your car, this needs to be proven. Furthermore you should, as I said before, speak to the proprietor of the garage. Please deal with the situation within the framework of the law.

Yes people would go the right way about it if the police was actually interested, thats why so many today deal with it their own way,i know i would anyway. ::)

Just had a call from my local bobby and you cannot believe the lengths Boston Police are prepared to go to so these vandals can be brought to task, thats right, no length whatsoever >:( >:(
'Unfortunately sir there are no CCTV cameras in that area and unless you have proof of who done it then im afraid we cannot pursue this investigation'
So, thats the end of that I suppose. Must say some of your suggestions are maybe a tad OTT ::) :o ::) :o but thanks for the help anyway :y

You have two choices. I advise you to choose wisely as you are a family man.
1) You can put it down to experience and move on.
2) you can torch the car lot and spend a very long time in jail.

I'll go mad if I saw this.. >:( >:( >:( >:(
one word I can think of..
-
The only weapon you have is your mouth. Tell your workmates what happened and get them to tell their mates. If you really want to be a pain, stand outside the car lot and tell potential customers. With a bit of luck, one of the grinning monkeys could get out of hand and you could call the police to deal with it.
Make sure you're 100% it was them though. ::)
-
I suppose the way I've got to look at it is noone was hurt, the car wasnt exactly pristine in the first place and finally..................................it wasnt the mig ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
I believe expanding foam filler can be rather damaging when injected into a cars exhaust pipe.
Not that I'd advise anyone to do it of course. ;D

No. Especially not someone who's just getting back on their feet and has a young family to care for.

A garage full of over priced cars it would seem. I'd go and confront them personally.

I cant understand why someone carrying that amount of stock would be concerned about a cheap car being left opposite. Not exactly going to take any business. :-/

A valid point but, the lengths some car traders go to, to ensure they keep their business is extreme. The workers grinning would've peed me off enough to go over and say something there and then.
-
You could.............
Get a nice little business card made up, with one of Bricktop's famous quote from "Snatch", which reads.........
"Do you know what Nemesis means?
A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent.
Personified in this case by an 'orrible idiot............{insert your name/alias or leave blank}.
Leave it a while then wreak your (lawful) revenge, and leave the same calling card.
My advice is to keep within the law - unless you want summat done! ;).
On a different note, I hear that brake fluid is quite cheap, and sometimes the lids on the bottles can open all by themselves.............
-

nitro-mors in sqeezy bottle squirt cars, expanding foam up exhausts.super glue in locks but wait 6 months to a year for your revenge:y
-
Foam up exhaust, brake fluid etc......all good. Except when they know it's likely to be you and you work for a car hire firm that has it's own cars parked nearby.

Although I would dearly love to try all these things, and I wish I'd had the brass neck to go up to the owner and wipe that smug grin off his face, I could guarantee that HIS cctv would be working fine and it would be me that ended up before the beak.
Lifes too short for retribution, so once ive keyed 6 of his cars thats that ;D ;D ;D ;D (That was a joke by the way :-/)

Do it uhum, something over your head so they can't tell it was you, camoflauged clothes to hide :y Not that I've ever done anything like this before ::)
-
I know it's not what you need to hear, but putting it up for sale opposite a car sales plot was simply asking for something to happen.
Also, their 'stock' will probably be insured against revenge 'vandalisim'.
...but it would put their next premium up. ::)
-
I bet the police would leave no stone unturned though if you actually did do something back to the traders' cars, they'd have half the force devoted to it. I bet there'd be no 'nothing we can do about it sir' then...
I'd HAVE to do something back though, even if it's a year down the line, no way of tracing it back to you then

Clean the Audi up again and put it back where it was and then go to work - this time have a couple of friends waiting in the back of a nearby van ready to confront anyone that tampers with it - at the very least they will be able to identify any of the garage employees and at best they can deal with the spineless wonders there and then.
I would also check your tyres and anything else like that in case they cut the sidewalls.

Good idea, perhaps the police would have to get involved then :y
-
Clean it up, hide a camera (DVR) int he headrest, park it up and smile nicely, walk away and wait.
If it happens again, take the video evisence to the police and make it stick.
-
They were quite dim really by doing damage like that to your car, when they know full well if you found out who it was,and it was quite obvious with the smirk on his kisser, that there place would be a lot better of a target than yours,i mean just think of the damage you could do to those cars. :y
-
I know someone who was attacked at traffic lights and then the attacker reported him to the Police, the Police accidentally let the victim see the address.
Paint stripper a few months later and when the car was resprayed paint stripper again.
The Police were not interested in the attackers damaged car, the attacker didn't know who his victim was.
-
Just thought I'd better give you an update on 'The Audi'
Cleaned it up as best I could and stuck it on Ebay, £350 start, £400 Buy It Now. 2 bids in the first half hour, couple of rather stupid questions, one piece of abuse, all standard fare for fleabay im afraid :(.
18 Hours later it was sold :y :y Couldn't believe it, no questions, no viewing, just brought it now. Immedietly emailed me to arrange pick up yesterday (Friday). Got a text from the lady in the morning saying her lift had let her down and would it be ok to come at 10pm, no probs.
21:55 came and she was there, money exchanged hands, she was happy as a pig in poo and had driven all the way from Leighton Buzzard (100+ Miles) which is funnily enough where my brother lives.
So although you hear bad things about the bay, there are still some decent people using it.
As a side note, my wife had to go up to our bedroom so she wouldn't have to see it drive off :'( :'(. This is one of those cars that although it was a heap with the knackered turbo and duff paint, it will still be hugely missed for years to come. As my wife said, the economy it gave meant she could just get in it and drive without worrying about fuel costs, it gave her a freedom she wasnt used to.
Enjoy your new home our old brilliant car. Hope she fixes you like she says she will :D :D :D
(By the way, I only paid £200 for it over 2 years ago :y :y)
-
Good result matey.
Sadly there will allways be muppets who spoil it on bay, sadly they have to live with thierselves.
