Why is Tanned skin play so important role for the majority of the british women? I have noticed this and i cannot explain it. Any thoughts?

lol interesting.
i thought it might have to do with all the advert bombardment everywhere and the media promoting that you have to be tanned. I cannot stand seeing this orange thing they put on some girls ;)

It is the power of advertising my friend.... :)

Tanned skin is portrayed as being more healthy and alluring.

Now that we know about skin cancer, this look has to be achieved by other means (for those who have an ounce of common sense anyway) and that means creams to "give you that all over tanned look"...

To me, getting a tan is down at the bottom of lifes priorities, but I am not a vain shallow person to whom appearance is key....
