A mate of mine has a BMW V6 with HG probs on a R plate he's going to put on "webuyanycar". The LPG kit on it is relatively new (12 months max) and wonders if it can be transferred to another car easily. He wants £700 for the whole car, is that a realistic proposition for anybody to rip out the kit and scrap the rest/sell the rest for a modest cost/break it??
Its a nice condition car with good interior and alloys, so would easily make £500 in bits.......
Anybody interested PM me? I'll put you in touch.
(sorry mods, didn't know where to post this....)

BMW V6? No such thing is there? S6, but not V6...
You need to find out what make of kit it is, and if its mixer/SGI

Apologies.......STRAIGHT SIX.
And have no idea, but has 6 solenoids and a big tank in the boot. will find out the make.
Thanks for pointing out the mistake.

Would this be a cheap way to get a relatively new LPG kit for your miggy?
(thinking of it myself......)

Yes and no. Being a kit for a straight 6 it may not be entirely suitable for a V6 (injectors in one block not 2 for example).
You'd also need all new pipework, leads, software etc.
£700 is enough to buy (or near enough buy) a brand new kit so there is the advantage of the other parts to sell but depends if you have the time and space to do it ::)
Personally I wouldn't mess about with a 2nd hand kit

why not fix the hg? whats it worth fixed? wouln't that be quicker and easier than stripping and refitting the lpg?

my v6 kit came in at £500 and something iirc....

mine was suspiciosly expensive compared to that price. Purely because it included an upright donut tank, allegedly.

remember, mine was single hole cylinder tank

Mine was about £650 IIRCC, but I always say £700 to allow for any little consumables/plates/bolts etc which may be needed :y

Looks like a no-go then.
what a pity, it was only 11 mths old.................!!
(by the way.......HG was completely cooked, and engine is no good)
