not life threatening injuries - but pretty bad crash none the less - hopefully he's OK :( :o :o
I trust the speaker was no where near the hanger before take off? ::)

"We've had unconfirmed reports that either the banner got snagged up, or there were cross-winds and it was unfamiliar airfield to the pilot."
Or volcanic ash, etc. etc.
Admit it: "We haven't got a clue what we're talking about" would be closer to the truth. ;D
Does make me wonder if there were any black helicopters (with Belgian registration, perhaps ;)) in the area. ::)

More to the point, was Tunnie or TB in the area at the time? I sense an OOF conspiracy ;D

I'm not a fan of his - but I wouldn't wish him harm - he's a colourful, entertaining chap with strong political convictions :y

....yep ...he has a certain entertainment value....but has little understanding of the real world....sadly... ;)

I was on A43 BEFORE the accident, when a shitload of fire engines and ambulances, and a convoy of police went flying up the other way. Rather a lot for a 2 seater plane accident that HADN'T happened. Wonder if they though it was going to land on the town :o

More likely the prospect of something interesting happening.
A light aircraft who couldn't extend his undercarriage announced his intention to land at the gliding club a couple of years back, except that he elected to spend 3 hours burning off as much fuel as possible before doing so. By the time he came to land there was barely any airfield that wasn't paved with emergency vehicles. ;D

I've been on a SleazyJet that had to do an emergency landing, rerouted to Stanstead (longer runway apparently, our destination of Luton would have meant us dropping off the end of the runway), and it is somewhat surreal coming in fast and banked, seeing all the vehicles lining up, and just starting to roll.....
....I did say as we boarded in France that we were in trouble - we had a woman driver :-X

A nasty and tasteless comment that says a more about the poster than it does about Nigel Farage. >:( >:( >:(
Hope Mr Farage makes a speedy recovery. :y

you've totally misrepresented my words - genuinely didnt mean any ill will - the first and most important news was that his injuries were not life threatening, that was the main thing :o
i said "hopefully hes OK" on the same line, and a few posts later i said:
" I'm not a fan of his - but I wouldn't wish him harm - he's a colourful, entertaining chap with strong political convictions "
just so we're all clear, thanks. :(

I had no problem at all with your comments BJ and I seriously doubt that Nickbat did either :y

My comments were not aimed at you, Banjax. Despite your opposition to his politics, you were gracious enough to point out his positive attributes. :y
No, my comment was aimed squarely at the member known as Optimist. >:(

Not fair - i wanted labour to get the big swings and the tories stuffed with the slides
and the libs stuck with the climbing frame
