Title: Motorway cops
Post by: joshwyatt on 05 May 2010, 22:04:36
Just finished on BBC 1
One part did make me laugh;
A guy was pulled over for using his hand held mobile phone whilst driving, and it then transpired he had no insurance.
But the bit that made me laugh, was him saying he was from London...and wasn't one 'of the weak minded people from Birmingham with those brummie accents' - I'm pretty sure those were his words.
What an idiot!
Neither of the police officers had a Birmingham accent, but to say that to a) police officers dealing with you and b) officers from that general area, just seems crazy.
It never ceases to amaze me at some people's stupidity  :D

saw it myself, he did dig himself a hole. Women in the Audi as well, what rubbish lies! Going around in circles, annoying they get a pathetic fine and a few points.

Noticed they favored Volvo S60's

He then asked if he could borrow the cops credit card to buy insurance over the phone. ;D ;D ;D

Yes, if it was down to me they would be banned from the roads for life, and there vehicles automatically crushed with no opportunity to rescue them! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

These people are a daily menace to us all! >:( >:( >:( >:(

The police officers hands are tied, and at the mercy of the CPS and very leniant courts, which is very annoying to the officers who spend so much time completing the paperwork and accumulating the evidence >:( >:( >:( >:(

It surprised me that PC Angus thingy bought an arrested person into custody, in the back of his Police car, while single crewed...

It is annoying how they don't seem to get much other than a small fine and some points.

Volvo S60 T5's are lovely cars, the later models '54' and later had 260 bhp.
Did you notice how they also favour the 3 series and 5 series. Dyfed-Heddlu have an almost all BMW fleet.

I always enjoy watching these kind of programmes, for the general insight...but to also see what vehicles they use...as I'll be buying them 3 years later or so when they're disposed of  :D

Loved the reply from the copper when he said you should be out catching more serious criminals, the policemans retort was if you hadn't been on your mobile we would not have had to have stopped you and we would be able to do what you suggested :y

Reckon the best one I have ever seen on there was the gentleman of asian or pakistani sort of origin with.......yes,...........NINE children under 13 in a volvo estate!!

It was like a constant stream of people getting out of the car, and his excuse was.......wait for it.............he couldn't afford a minibus!!!

(didn't think he could afford a telly, either judging by the amount of kids)

And he only got a warning, the kids and his wife walked away!!

Priceless.

I thought it was interesting that the chap who was towing with a Landy (as it transpired; on a provisional license) revealed the need for 'commercial' journeys with vehicles over 3 Tonnes (combined car/trailer weight) are now required to have and use a tachograph. :-?

What I found interesting about that one is that the guy originally gave his name as Kevin Taverner. The PC then radio'd through with the name Kevin Turner and there was no trace. Eventually he got done for obstructing police but he had originally given his correct name!!! He was given several chances to correct the PC though!! ::)

Handcuff the kid to one of his parents for a fortnight. That would soon cure him. ;D ;D

That used to be the preffered treatment 25 odd years ago, all it achieved was to see various cities ripped to shreds and the taxpayer paying through the nose for the resultant damage.

I can introduce you to 9 year olds that would make you look like Mo from driving school.
I'm not saying it's ok for 14 year olds to nick motors and then drive like a pratt, but you shouldn't judge anybodies skills on their age alone.

I suspect the obvious lack of insurance and driving license will have come into his (rather harsh) appraisal. ;D
