I'm still up.

I watched it all, until 7 o'clock, but I dozed off  a couple of times.  Don't think I missed very much, though.  I'm off for a snooze now. :)

Clegg seems to be saying that Cameron should be allowed to try to form a minority govt
Which the markets took to mean that he wasnt going to save Browns skin. The pound, which had been falling badly against the dollar and even the Euro  :o at the prospect of a Lib/Lab pact, went back up in a matter of seconds.

I can't see Cameron giving the LibDems the proportional representation they'd need to get in bed with the Tories....they may agree a referendum on it tho......

if they don't, a Lib/Lab pact still wouldn't give you a majority but they may ask the welsh and scottish nats? that might be too much of a compromise.

i reckon the Tories will try to go it alone (with the help of the NI Unionists) which might be interesting  :o

I think your right. A Lib/Lab minority govt. wouldnt really be tenable imo. Cant see Cameron caving in on PR, it would probably mean every future election result being as inconclusive as this one, and the Tories would probably be the biggest losers - permanently.
Someone is going to have to prise whats left of Browns fingernails from the doorknob of No.10 over the weekend. ;D
