Title: Women & Cars
Post by: waspy on 12 May 2010, 19:43:19
Had a phone call from Liz this morning, she was telling me her oil light has come on & she'd put two litres in it (Pug 106). I asked if the light had gone out after & she said no. I said don't put any more in.
Went over about half an hour ago & it's the engine management light that's on ::) ::)
Her dip stick also broken at the very end (cheap plastic crap) & so checking the oil is not possible. I bought her a new stick, but the old end is at the bottom of the tube & that means removal of the sump.
How many of these french crap machines have had their dip stick broken & had to have their sumps removed & a new stick purchased. The new stick's exactley the same as the broken one so it's a matter of time until it happens again :( >:(

Money for old rope i feel >:( >:(

Can't you take the tube out? You can on the Saxo's and they're the same car in essence.

worth putting dab of glue or something on the bottom of the broken dip stick? push it in, leave over-night and hopefully brings the whole lot up in the morning?

I'm not sure, i'll be investigating more at the weekend :(

First thing to do is drop the oil & put back the correct amount ;D
