Title: I'm a happy bunny..........
Post by: Sixstring on 14 May 2010, 16:22:25
Just got back from a trip to Liverpool (croxteth) then on to Manchester (Trafford Park) clocking up over 508 miles in one day.
Got out of the car just as fresh as I got in it, comfortable, and to cap it off, did it on a complete tank of fuel!!!! (fuel light on 2 miles from home)

All this in a 3.0 V6 elite estate!!    HAPPY BOY.

Dunno what that equates to, but put £80 on V-power in before I left, and was just on empty before the light came on.

Honestly.

Well, from full to red light, is about 70 litres.

70 litres =15.38 gallons

So 15.38 gallons over the course of 508 miles is 33.03mpg  :y

And if you're lazy - there is an online MPG calculator  :D

I seem to recall MDTM was going to measure up 3.2 cams to look at advantages.... I'm not sure what the outcome was in the end.

In all honesty, I doubt it'd make much of a difference to a 3.0  :y

Like the look of your LPG setup though, James...........

gotta be my next purchase at that sort of price, perhaps if you sort the tank problem you will let me know, but my bet is on the cut-out boot floor 120l one I mentioned earlier.
