Title: Peachy SOLD
Post by: Peachy on 16 May 2010, 20:36:32
Sad News. It is with regret that I have sold Peachy at long last but it is with some sadness as I really liked her, but doing the mileage I now do (2000+ this week alone) I could not justify keeping her, but at least she is staying in OOF.
I would like to thank James V6 ELITE (?) for looking after her for me, he did a wonderful job. Thank you James.

Yes, they are great cars -- but thirsty in this day and age  :-/

What have you replaced her with?

My brother has a vectra SRI I think it is (08 Plate) thats 150bhp he rockons and theres a chip available as I think it's been mentioned on here that takes it over 200bhp.  Telling me the other night, 42mpg arround town, and allthough he hasnt really done a long run yet 65mpg doesnt seem out of the way

Thanks Josh, It is an exsisting member I believe, never seen him on here, but never asked him his user name either. I know he is from Newent as I delivered the car last night, and he has Tech2 cos he came and looked at the car with Tech2  three weeks ago, and turned out the EML with that P0430 error code, but sadly it came back on, but he was not worried in the least about it, so I am assuming he knows a fair bit, and he does have a Tech2 so he must do.

If he is a member with a genuine TechII and local to Newent it will be good news for members in this neck of the woods :)

It was deffo is genuine Tech2 as I looked at it, and it said on it Tech2 or was it TechII. But it read the codes and he was able to update the gearbox apparently. His name is Keith. He had an Omega Elite a while back which was LPG'd and he was sorry he sold it. I can't tell you anymore, apart from he was a real nice polite guy.

Try and get him to join the forum and offer his services (paid of course) with the TechII :)

As far as I know Rob he is a member.
How often he comes in here I do not know. I did ask him to speak to James V6 as I could not prove what work I have had done to Peachy, so I suggested he come in forum and speak to James who will confirm what work was done, and he wrote down James name so I again assume he will be contacting James in the near future. Hope you don't mind James. :y :y :y

There is no 1.9 Ford Diesel, te 2.0 is 130Bhp and the 2.2 is 173 Bhp. There was a 2.2/155 Bhp in the old Mondeo but not the current shape.

Thats a big investment you have made, about £17k if I guess correctly?

Some of these new Veccies are quick but will not take a bend at speed, they suffer from the worlds worst understeer. New cars are bland & bore me but gun to my head i'd have the Mondeo all day. No contest. :)

In my case 14,999 more than I can afford  ;D but I hope it turns out ok for you.I did have the Zetec S tdci in the previous shape with just over 150bhp and it was very good on the juice.

If I needed a modern replacement diesel, I'd probably go for a mundano as well. Or possibly a VAG, but you pay for those...
