Title: Laptop help please!
Post by: Big Fra on 20 May 2010, 12:03:03
Greetings chaps, after a long break, i'm back on the oof!

Many events have taken place and some life changing decisions have been made.
But those are stories for anothger time.

I need a little advice regarding my wee cheapy Acer laptop.
After a fairly sustained period of inactivity, I have switched the lappy on to be presented with the message;

<windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe.

It asks for the above file to be re-installed.

Er........

Help please?
I know there are some computer bods (gods?) on here that can provide a very easy solution.

Cheers in advance. :y

Try booting from a startup disk, rename the hard drive file to ntoskrnl.bak or something then copy the file ntoskrnl.exe from the disk to your Hard Drive, reboot.

Good luck.
