Is there any point? Our squad is made up of the best players from our best teams. What bothers me is many of the said teams are owned/managed by foreigners. Most of the players of said teams are foreigners therefore most of our ENGLAND line up won't be English. So if England win, did WE really win? I'm far from a footy expert so could be put right but the same could be said for all the other countries line ups. Nothing to do with racism but it's all mixed up.
I wonder if everyone flying the flag from thier houses & cars has actually thought about it? :-/

Nope - many of the best players in the best teams arent English, so they dont play for England in the world cup. ;)

so going by that reasoning - the only team that can win is South Africa - as that is where the competition is being held or will it be Germany - as Adidas is the officall ball supplier (their ball their rules) :y

i wont support england until they get an english manager. too many foriegn players in england.should be 2 players per club, doesnt send out a good message for the kids if clubs choose foriegn over english players, its not about football anymore.

The problem with football clubs is players being picked not on talent but on who is most marketable. acadamies are training youngsters then telling them they are not good enough at 18 in favour of foreign talent. that will leave england with a lack of skilful players for the future. how many clubs have huge debts because of this??

I was always under the impression that to play for "England" you had to have been born in the country, not a British colony or a part of the United Kingdom....
Am I incorrect?

You're all wasting your breath. England are NOT going to win the world cup anyway, whatever the team, despite all the hype that the press are displaying, yet again ::) ::)

I was always under the impression that to play for "England" you had to have been born in the country, not a British colony or a part of the United Kingdom....
Am I incorrect?
you have to be a citizen of the nation and not have played at international level for any other country irrespective of where you were born - but as far as i know the England team were all born in the UK :y

Well I am the eternal optimist and I am expecting a Spain versus England Match so I can go to our local bar and watch our men beat the Spanish. It won't happen of course...................
