Decided to upgrade my mobile phone today, after reading lots of information regards to the actual phone I wanted, and for my needs Orange payg seemed the best deal.
Anyhow, went to activate it online, no joy as message saying they have 'technical problems', so phoned the number to activate it.
Not impressed, got an Indian chap that I could hardly understand, and think he had trouble understanding me as well, and started to sigh a lot, in a 'not really interested'. Then says can't find my address...., can't find postcode..., then says sorry having trouble with the computer system, bear with him... etc etc, and after a brief amount of time cuts me off :-/.
He's got the number of my mob, but hasn't either phoned me back to help get me activated.
Still with my original provider, so may end up getting my phone unlocked if I can, and go with the provider that I had. Okay so the calls maybe a little more expensive, but least I never had any issues with them :-? .
As a new customer with Orange, I'm not ruddy impressed with them already :(.
Right, I've had my rant, and wondering what ever happened to customer service ?? >:( >:(

Not all Orange CS are in India or where ever :-/
I'm on contract & PAYG with Orange, it's hit & miss if you get someone British or not.
If i get some one i don't understand i just hang up & re-dial ;)

I may just try the above tomorrow when I'm calmer, otherwise I may say something that will upset the next c.t. in my firing line.
Just need to now do some research to see if it is possible to unlock my model of phone should I have no joy with Orange, as I think the phone itself is impressive compared to my old brick Nokia ::)

I've been with orange for donkeys years other than a brief disaster with 3 a few years back. They've been as good as gold with me. My present contract is 300 texts, 800 cross network minutes, unlimited landline minutes & dongle for the lappy, £26 a month. I never use anywhere near my call/text allowance & only have a Nokia 6301 handset but i'm not a phone person so it suits me fine. :)

I've been with Orange for years and their call centre is in the UK - well, the North East I think!
Always pleasant, friendly and things get sorted whenever I've been in touch with them.

Well I have been with vodafone for the past 15 yrs as a contract customer and I have never had any complaints and they have always been very helpful when i have phoned up to renew my contact and they even text me to say thank you for my custom and they value my custom too, so i wouldn't go else where and i will always stay with fodafone because i am very happy being with them, so they must being doing something right and giving me a good service, and i have just renewed my contract and got a very good deal, I get 600 mins and unlimited texts to any network all for £19 a month now i think that a very good deal and the phone i have got would cost you £209 as a pay as you go phone and its a lovelly phone to use :)

Go to T-Mobile, the call centre is in Merthyr Tydfil, so however hard it is to understand the accent, at least English is their first language....in most cases ;D ;D
Jon
-
Except that T-mobile doesn't work at all well in Lydney, cinderford, coleford, chepstow.................
But bloody Vodafone does, and their customer service is crap.
(got to be on vodafone, then......)
-
Could be worse, you could be with Vodafone. OK, their CS are UK, but CS is a waste of time if the coverage is next to non existent.
-
ive been on most of the names, Orange, vodafone, O2, virgin etc, and have now gone back to Orange, im using my phone alot more and found them much cheaper than Virgin who i was previously with. i didnt have any trouble getting everything sorted either. I must admit i hate the call centre's outside the Uk though >:( Luckily i dont have to contact them often :y
-
Tried phoning them again today, twice got some foreign sounding person, so put the phone down straight away, as couldn't understand them yet again ! :-/ .
Try in a couple of days to see if I have better luck ?.
