Title: PC problem
Post by: RobG on 28 May 2010, 20:01:04
When I access any website said sites would open in full screen mode with top and bottom bars displayed. The last few weeks all sites are only opening in a rectangular minimized window and I have to physically maximize to full screen. Any ideas :-?

RobG - I might be wrong but I think your problem could be that Explorer was last closed down in a minimised window. When you reconnect, it defaults to its last connection format.
You could try closing windows in full screen mode and then reconnect.
Worth a try ;)

install firefox and see if it does it with that.
failing that open 1 window maximise it and open a second window.
close the first window and maximise the second then try opening a 3rd and that should open full screen :y

It only happens on the first window. Every other tab opens up full screen :-?

browser? Open it it up, maximise said window, then close immediately. Then start browser again.

Humm that usually fixes it, as sometimes some sites 'force' windows to a certain size and above usually corrects issue. I'd clear all temp files in IE, cookies / temp internet files and so on, junk everything but passwords (if you have any)  :y

Just cleared the cache. No matter what site I go to in IE7 it still does it :-?

Use it as a sign from MS to try a better/different browser, I would!

You haven't turned kiosk mode/caret browsing on or anything have you? Don't know what thats called in IE I stay away from it unless I'm testing a site build.

Turned nothing on. Can`t understand why it does it with the first window but open up other tabs and they all open full screen
