The numpty probably means 1,2,3 and 'Drive' as the full auto mode.

Nope, they only did manual or auto...I think some people get confused because you can put it in D or 1,2 or 3 and some people have thought this was semi auto...but it's not. There's a whole range of different auto's, I drove a CVT today and found it most odd. I think tiptronic is the best, or as some people call it triptronic ;D
