wouldnt have called em would you Mike  ;D

arrogant gits in those vans, one pulled up here to clamp her car after we just bought it, but left when the saw the tax class  ;D

(to be fair we drove it home untaxed, cos the advert said taxed till the end of the month, just not which month  >:( )

Sympathise in a way, but not in others.
They have been round here and clamped a corsa....no tax.
You have to bear in mind that no tax means no MOT or insurance normally, and that means bad news for you if your car gets hit by them.
 ;) ;) ;)

With respect - ALL Nissan Almera's should be clamped then taken off to the scrappers (Bury Salvage do a nice line of Nissan's hey Andy B?)  :D :D

But ONLY the dvla will do u for not having a road fund licence where as the Police will do u for no insurance, no mot &/or not displaying a road fund licence.

You can however take your car, once its pre-booked, to a LOCAL mot centre without mot or tax (cos u can't obtain tax without a current mot) as long as the person holds insurance.  :y

You'll need the insurance docs but you can tax it with the green new owners slip ;)

A decent (largeish) post office doesnt need the certificate - they check online....obviously needs the database to be up to date though.

I just phoned them to check this, and apparently they don't do this. (against DVLA regulations!), but they can accept a printed copy from an email attachment or downloaded from the website. but not a photocopy or fax.

the only worry about the online checking is that sometimes it takes a couple of days or so to update at their end

i had one post office telling me they wouldn't even accept my insurance documents because the company wasn't on their list of approved car insurers, which is odd, cos as far as i'm aware, an insured car is an insured car!! my other local post office had no problems at all with my paperwork
