Another example of the problems associated with outsourcing manufacturing to China, I'm afraid. :(

chip and pin was only brought in as a way for banks to avoid paying out on fraud, arguing that if no one knows your number, it cant be faked  :o

I have always said that a signature is always more secure...  The cashier actually has to look at the card for a start, they can see if the card looks real....
