Got the bug since Isle of Man, started by looking for car transporter trains to Scotland, stumbled across this:

Trains from NL to most of Europe at reasonable prices (290EUR) return.

Also French have similar offerings:

Looks like a great time / arse / boredom saver to get bike to the Alps easy, and enjoy more of the time there.

Anyone used one before?

Great idea, had no idea these existed to be honest, but if it was me I'd be absolutely itching to get on the bike and ride the whole way. Take your point about saving the arse though  ;D

not thought about the myself till TB mentioned it, trouble is takes too long to get to South of France / Alps. Either a really, really boring day on the motorway which even on the GS is tiresome.

Or take the train, and be fresh in the Alps!
