Apparently Rossi had a big off in practice today.Compound fractures to right Tib/Fib (indescribably painful injury)and will be out of action for at least 3 months.Could even be a career ending injury depending wether there is nerve damage, how well it heals, and if he still has the motivation when it has healed. :( :( :(

Wasnt sure if it would be in poor taste to attach the video clip, but as there are no life threatening or eally serious injuries etc, judged it would probably be ok ? :-/

I assume we are not talking FRANCIS here?
-
Valentino. ::) :y
-
thats a shame he'll be out - must've landed badly as I've seen plenty riders walk away from those (Rossi included) :(
-
It is a great shame, Albs, but he'll surely be back sometime.
As an aside, why, oh why, do YouTube posters feel the need to stick music onto news clips? >:(
-
Rossi is a Genius and I hope he makes a mend :y
Looks very painful too :o

I know he doesn't always get to the front but the race(s) won't be as exciting without him.
I'm not a fan of anyone but Rossi is pretty admirable.
Get well soon Valli.

Wow, Rossi binned it, so rarely makes mistakes. Seemed to slide out from under him very early in the turn, and how far he flew before he landed, all over before he knew what happened i guess.
Bless him, get well soon Valentino. Just hope they can pin it without complications.

very strange off, maybe hit patch of oil? :-/
Have up most respect for these guys, i brick myself doing 100mph on the TT circuit on the beemer

He appeared to low side and then the grip followed by the dreaded high side flick. Nasty.

I wonder if there was some kind of electronic system failure, they have very sophisticated programmes to limit or eliminate wheelspin etc. Wouldnt have thought that under normal circumstances the bike could do that. It was very much like an old fashioned 500 two stroke high side. :-/
The worrying thing about the injury is the fact that it was compound fractures. Although the leathers obviously kept things in place to an extent, the bones still came out through the skin, and when this happens it can cause serious damage to the nerves which control movement/feel etc. in the leg and foot, which is what knackered my right leg. This could be the deciding factor on his future, although he will obviously have access to the very best medical treatment available, which could make all the difference.

wondered if tyre was a bit cold, but its well into the lap, had he just left the pits ? tc probably backed off to minimum interferance, but was he not going in to the turn, not coming out? wouldn't be asking for full power there surely?
-
Wouldnt have thought a cold tyre could have caught him out like that tbh Chris. Us mere mortals probably but not him. A bit of a strange one imo. :-/

agree, it just "looks" like a cold tyre type thing, as said he was too far into the lap. But then his crash in indianapolis looked odd and he said he just cocked up, hence the donkey hat at the next round ;D
-
Talk seems to be of left side of tyre being cold! He was slowing to make some space in front for a blast and presumably opened it up too much on the bend.
Made the race a bit of a bore but the fight for 4th was good.
