Title: the most expensive yet
Post by: Andy B on 05 June 2010, 23:14:14
I've used my Omega for work the last couple of days so I can make the most of my new R134a. So, the low fuel light came on this morning on the way, so i stopped off on the way home to fill up.
Today was a new record ................. £80.01 :o :o :o :o :o WTF! and Tesco's fuel has just come down in price .....  a bit!

you want to convert it to run on smelly gas, i can get 2 tanks of gas for less than that which would do me for 850 miles. Towing that plastic box would be cheaper too  :y

I think our sainsbury's was £1.19 per litre for normal unleaded, but in Canterbury Esso it's £1.13 a litre for normal unleaded and £1.19 for Super so put in £25 worth there, shame it's so far away kind of defeats the object of going all the way there to put it in  :(

Because I don't use the Omega every day I can't help but 'hammer it' when I do. A 'go-faster' Megane was trying to show how fast his car was yesterday as I got on the motorway ........ I couldn't help it!  ::)  ::)  ::)
but I don't think it would have been a god enough excuse had I been stopped doing 3 figures plus  ;)  ;)

Thought it was illegal not to carry a serviceable spare wheel in your car.

I sometimes read some of posts of a holier than thou caravan forum (I can't post anymore cos I told them what I thought of them  ::)) and one forum member bought himself a 'fullsize' spare that he carried in his rear footwell because an Omega only has a 'space saver'  :-?  :-?  :-?  :-?

Not illegal to have NO spare, but if you do it has to be legal.  ;)

I could if I was prepared to fork out to gas my car, but with the milage I do in it (5000 miles last year) I don't think it'd be worth the expence  ;)

Eh!? Its full size, recall issues in people sourcing a space saver that fits Omega  :-/

Carvanners eh? Silly people  ;D

Must admit boot is an issue, taking cat section to be welded by the master, i thought right, i'll take this, pop the rear seat down...... ah....... bugger!

Would a spare saver fit in the front storage on Van with other spare and gas bottle ect?

I have failed to fill the tank at Asda in the past due to a (then) £85 limit (its a purely pay-at-pump station at MK). Price has eased now, and is 113,9p, though the pay-at-pump limit has been raised to £99

Fart gas is working well for me - yes I do miss the boot, but in fairness only really needed it 2 or 3 times a year.  I bought a gay roofbox for these occassions.
