No not mine, my stepson (age 20). Next Friday.
Seeing Stuarts post about his impending twins made me think about our munchkins.
So far, it's got all the hallmarks of a classic family disaster.
There's the evil (but wealthy) stepmother whom my wife hates.
The relatives from Australia. Enough said.
The grooms grandparents whom now cannot attend due to unfortunate personal circumstances.
The best mans' (grooms brother) speech, which as yet, is unwritten.
The grooms suit fitting with the retailer that's gone out of business.
The happy couples' decision to buy a new car as well as somehow affording the wedding.
And the other, usual family related problems. Who is, and is not invited. Who sits next to who etc.
Good God. Makes me glad my wife and I got married in Gretna Green with just two close freinds as witnesses and after invited everyone we know to come for a booze up at our local.
Any good wedding disaster stories out there?

Make sure you take the video camera! ;D
I'm sure it'll all work out. ;)
And if it doesn't, then you can post the footage. ;D

just make sure you dont forget the hip flask, i can fill it with some 70% poitin, one swig of this stuff and you will be dancing on the tables

Hillper,
If you have a baby or a couple of toddlers coming as well, maybe you should add them to your list.
Their great for blethering through the service & speaches, and can make videoing the event a nightmare. >:(
Good luck with the day out though!

Don't forget to tart your car up with ribbons, Hillper ;D
-
Good luck with the day, from going to other peeps weddings they tend to sort themselves out on the day.
I am assuming your not designated driver on the day, if so enjoy the after party. ;D

I can vouch for the poitin - tried some when I was staying with a friend in Dublin a few years ago....bl**dy rocket fuel or what :o.....memory loss, the works!!
Anyway, good luck with the firework display Hillper ;D

All you need is three more weddings and a funeral and you could make a film....you could call it 'A wedding, a funeral and 3 more weddings'....or something along those lines....
-
Nah, nobody could make a successful film about some weddings and a funeral.
Anyway, I'll let you know how it went and post some incriminating piccies, if there are some!

You'll all be excited to hear how it went.
Stopped in Nottingham on the way to Hull for lunch in a local's pub and were treated to some very pleasent Northern hospitality. Far freindlier than the pubs round my way!
The evil stepmother didn't turn up. Nor did the relatives from Australia, nor did the best man!
(Stand in best man found at last minute).
Groom forgot his shoes and had to be ferried back home at high speed across Hull by me.
I forgot my shirt and had to rush to the nearest shop and buy another.
The rest was fine, apart from the Karaoke at the reception!
Mrs Hillper and me had a great time and the happy couple are still happy.

Cool! :)
