From what I saw there were a few playrrs who made mistakes, poor goalie makes a mistake and he's toss...... in fact I thought England played crap.

In the last 20 mins, seemed like they eased up for a draw :-?

Don't worry Green - it's not the first disastrous spill that the US took advantage of  :y ;D ;D

IMO England played a pretty lac luster game, their really going to have to "up the beat" when and if they come up against the top teams in the competition.

a lot of good teams start poorly - and you'll still qualify and probably top the group  :y

Really embarassing to watch, couldn't stop cringing, as we were hyped by the media to be best in the group.  :'(

Initially I was disappointed with the 1.1 result BUT I suspect that England are saving themselves and aiming not to peak too early. Maybe Green fumbled that goal to make us look mediocre and lull the opposition into a false sense of security.....

Boy are they going to get a shock.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Who here would stick with Green now?

I would personally.

I wouldn't - you can't be sentimental - you're trying to win a tournament, Green screwed up and unfortunately for him, he's the keeper so any error is more likely to end in disaster than an outfield player. I remember Fergie dropping Jim Leighton for the FA Cup Final (scotlands best keeper at the time) and it destroyed his career for years.......but man utd won the cup. So what do you want? A happier keeper or a good tournament?  :-/

He's proved he can't handle it, its the World Cup the pressure and scrutiny is higher - get James between the sticks - experienced, calm and his calamities are a thing of the past (hopefully):(

As i said before, if England are to be considered genuine World Cup contenders, they should have beaten USA with ease. I don't know why the media hype them up so much, anyone would think they only have to turn up to walk away with the trophy. Today there is a headline in the paper, 'Rooney is the new Pele', what a load of balls  ::)
Best of luck to England but it'll take a massive slice of luck to win, because I can't see them beating Brazil or Spain, or Italy or Germany for that matter on last night's display. Green's terrible mistake will make an already under-strength defence even more jittery and lack confidence in whatever second-choice goalie they choose to run with, hardly the stuff of champions...

Just my opinion of course  :y

wouldnt say the "us" were exactly on fire even with eleven men.
german goal tally could of been higher before the send off.

I dont understand that tbh.If only one of the 4 British teams  are in the finals then I think that all the British people should support the team.If Norn Irn were there I would be supporting them,as I come from there, but as their not then I support England . :-/

I don't understand that either, I've always supported the home teams in the World Cup, seeing as Wales have never qualified in my lifetime. I'd still like to see England lift the cup, just don't think they will

theres more support for england than you'd think up here - we're not all bitter and twisted  :y

i just have a healthy distance from the "world beater" tag the media seems to give them - they're a good side- we'd take every one of them, (well maybe not the keepers), right now they look like a decent shout for the quarters, and with a bit of luck, the semis - but thats about as far as they should expect to go - most countries would be happy they had a team good enough to qualify and good enough to progress to the latter stages(we never have), why you torture yourselves with dreams of actually winning the thing tho is beyond us and most of the rest of the UK  ::)

but i've supported them since 1990 - before that it was "anyone but england" if i'm honest :(
they always have a dramatic world cup and they do deserve a slice of luck for once 8-) :y
