Title: How great
Post by: Del Boy on 13 June 2010, 16:38:55
Door on my BM just smashed into thanks to an idiot in a Lexus trying to do a 3 point turn in the middle of my current road  >:(

Can my luck get any worse at the minute?

Oh no Del! :( :(

How do you know it was a Lexus Del?  Are there any clues as to colour, or model, damage done to it?   If so I will watch out as I go around town ;)

I meant not my road  :y

Luckily he did stop and give me his details so I'll give him his due in that respect.

It's pushed the door card on the inside though so something has probably bent inside the door, could be a hefty repair coming up, doesn't look too bad but it's easily noticeable and the door from the inside is none to clever  :(

Phone Plod.  :y
He'll get a ticket for 'un-neccessary obstruction'.  I got a ticket for just that a few years ago. It wasn't a driveway as such, with a lowered pavement or anything like that, so I hadn't noticed I was blocking his car parked outside his house.
Poor guy had been stuck at home for 6 hours.  :-[

Hope you get things sorted out without too much trouble :y :y

Makes you laugh really his Lexus RX had parking sensors :(

He called me earlier and said can we keep it out of the insurance as I have a high excess. It's actually pushed the door in and hit something because the door has pimpled out. The wing is also now not flush with the bonnet which is annoying. It's going to get taken to BM tomorrow for a quote I hope he's ready for a big bill :o A bumper on my astra g was £880 what's a door, wing re alignment and a possible window motor going to be on a BMW?

His attitude wasn't bad though being truthfully blunt but what really got my back up was rather understandably I went out there cussing and cursing as you would mainly due to the fact that I had a viewer for tomorrow and it's the inconvenience of it all, eventually I calmed down and thought to myself chill out etc, then he had the cheek to say "well I could've just driven off". I was actually at my mums house which has more cameras around it than buckingham palace, so I replied well you still wouldn't have got away because of the cameras. His whole attitude then changed.

His car also had a reversing camera  ;D

Anyway went to BMW today, new door with painting and labour £1600 + VAT to be added on, bodywork guy said what I thought had happened, door was pushed onto the side impact beam, thus making it dent outwards in places and inwards where his car hit it. Could be looking at a new window motor too as that's now rather creeky and it wasn't. But £1600 + VAT for a door  :o :o

I still can not get my head around people who have to fit cameras to their house, unless of course it is the home of someone rich and or famous, and I very much do, live in the real world of the North East :)
