Sorry, Mods, but....
BOTTAWALLALOADOCKS!!!!!
If they can celebrate a 1-1 draw as a win, there's no hope for afghanistan.......mind you, looking at their history of conflict (vietnam, etc) I understand...........!!
-
That is brilliantly, typically American!! :o :o :o :o :o
Trust them, and they compare it to a battle in the American War of Independence if memory serves me correctly! ::) ::) :D :D :D :D :D :D
Just think what they would have reported if they had of won! :D :D :D ;)
-
..............yes done some research and the Battle of Bunker Hill was on June 17, 1775 against the British! ::) ::) ::) ::) ;)
-
......a little like boxing in the US.....where the English guy must knock his American opponent out cold.....in order to get a draw..... ::) ::) ;)
1984 ....Los Angeles Olympic Games....anyone.. ;) ;)
-
have they got much more history than that?
ours goes back centuries more. What a "spin" on events when a draw is a win............. :D :D :D Loony.

They are always hoping, and all Americans I have met in the States and elsewhere are so insecure of having 'non'history', that they go to great lengths to get to know and say that their "great, great, great, great, great Aunt came from England"!! :D :D :D
We have thousands of years of history, they have barely 400 years, poor souls :'( :'(

Perhaps we should take the "The Colonies" back .......from these upstart yanks ....Lizzie..... ;) ;)

great headline - it means the draw felt like a win as it came from nowhere....but you all knew that, right? ::)

I do not think that is a realistic proposition with what is going on in the Gulf Optimist! :D :D :D :D ;)
I reckon they will be taking a lot more away from us! :'( :'( ;) ;)

What they are actually saying is that the best they can do against us in the last 255 years is a draw!!!
Mind you -- it must be the only conflict involving Americans where they haven't inflicted severe injuries upon their own side ::)

Anti British sentiment is rumbling in certain parts of the US right now but sure as sh!te they'll kiss our arse when it comes to the next conflict
