Rechargeable Ni-MH
Whats the most powerfull I can get.Been looking on Ebay and
Seen AAA 1100
and AA 2800
TIA :y
-
Thats about tops.....beware though as in the AA's 2500 is the most stable and long lived (no of cycles).
The 2800 can get easily buggered by over charging.
-
Hahnel do a 3100mAh and they are fine except I could not put the back on the scanner as the batteries are a little too FAT.
Sounds silly but true, and even without the back on they kept springing out.
Look on the Bay for HAHNEL BATTERIES.

Interesting point there Mark and cheers. :y
They are for my DECT BT hand sets, this will be about the 4 th set of batteries, and have allways gone for the most powerfull, current ones are 2800 AA
AAA I want for my laser pointers.

In which case I am not in the least bit surprised they dont last as the chargers for DECT phones are about the most cheap and nasty uncontrolled things you can get.
I would be heading to around the 2000 mAH level for those.

Hey, Diane, does your Rolls-Royce or Range Rover run on AA's then???? ;D ;D ;D

The larger capacity rechargeables make sense for a limited range of applications only, IMHO, and DECT phones would not be one of them. As said, they need a proper dedicated charger rather than relying on old Ni-Cd chargers and trickle chargers built into equipment. These will kill them in short order.
I have also found they don't hold charge that well when unused so, for example, they are great in your camera on holiday when it's getting daily use, but, when it's been left a couple of weeks at home and you want to take it out on impulse you'll be disappointed.
For a DECT phone you have a very low drain so capacity is not important. The charging circuits are poor so go for a low-tech but decent quality Ni-Mh cell and don't worry about the capacity.
.. or, if it's a Philips DECT phone, just bin it, as it won't be the battery or the charger, just the phone FUBAR IME. >:(

My 1st phillips DECT phones I think were the Onis ones and todate were the best battery wise, only stopped using them coz the buttons dont work on certain numbers.
Trpalced with a BT set, love the phones, colour screens, large memory, dual number input per name and sim card copy etc think they were the BT Elise but battery usage is diabolical.
Bought a set of Philips again to replace the BT a year ago and the whole base screwed up, but lost the reciept so a waste of £97
Settled on a 4 pack of Panadonic but srill use the BT Elise because of the memory and listing for called and caller numbers (yet to see a better phone for that) The Panasonics are everything the box days they are no complaints apart from no caller history.

Ahh, I had a set of Philips ONIS phones which drove me up the wall.
Batteries were charging OK, batteries were OK but still the ruddy things reported low battery all the time and had dreadful battery life. >:(
A mate of mine had a set with precisely the same problem. The cynic in me was wondering if they have a "built in obsolescence" feature in the firmware to ensure you buy another set after a few years. >:(

My original batteries were rubbish, swapped them for some 2100's and never looked back.

My BRAND-NEW BT 4 phone kit came with chinese made rechargeable batteries that only lasted a week before they wouldn't hold their charge anymore, the BT shop gave me some panasonic ones when I complained, and no probs so far............................

I think these had developed an issue with the low battery detection. They just shut down after a couple of minutes in a call regardless of battery state. Anyway, I have proper phones connected to the wall with wires now, and I'm happier for it. ;)
