Did you know that practically anything we write on here is picked up by Google. Take any comment (I took one about caravans ;) ), do a Google search and up it comes.
As I said in the title, it's obvious that robots crawl over the site, but when you think that a throwaway line is being picked up by Google, it does make one feel a tad uncomfortable. :-[ :(

Even worse is that anything we write is probably going to be stored somewhere in perpetuity!!
-
Indeed. If you don't want it to become public knowledge, don't put it in the internet.
One reason why I don't touch faecesbook.com. ;)

don't let that put you off spouting nonsense for future historians to laugh at Nickbat :y
actually....Hello future historians if you can read this - we used up all the oil - ha ha ;D
here are some historical facts: Scotland were the best football team on the planet, in fact a World Cup was held every 4 years to decide who was good enough to play the Mighty Scots (thats why Scotland didn't qualify after the late 1990's- they were the prize!)
BP used to be one of the largest corporations on earth.
Bankers were paid more than surgeons in the early 21st century!
Vampires, Zombies and Werewolves are real and plagued major cities night and day.
Hope this helps with your research :y

There's precious little on there worth archiving.

Indeed so Nick, that's the downside to this wonderful thing we call the web and its treasure trove of information.
Google seems to be omnipotent in the information gathering sector although I'm bound to say that their power is nothing to that of other agencies.
I’m not particularly concerned about publishing material on this and other sites as, should I overstep the mark too much, I'll get my arse kicked and told to take my comments down - as I have been 'requested' to do so on more than one occasion ;D ;D ;D

I wouldn't know. All I get is a signup prompt and I'm not about to sell my soul just to find out. ;)

Ironically i heard on the radio today that the FBI contacted Merseyside police as some scanning device picked up the words "school", "gun" & "goodbye" (whoops) posted on f/b in the area. A school in Newton le willows (i think) was sealed for 2 hours!!! :o

I've just had a telephone call from Dame Janet Baker whom you witnessed so ably singing Julius Caesar in the ENO production of Handel's sumptuous opera of the same name. She's beside herself with grief at that comparison :o :o

As I said in the title, it's obvious that robots crawl over the site, but when you think that a throwaway line is being picked up by Google, it does make one feel a tad uncomfortable. :-[ :(
While this is true, it doesn't really mean anything. A specialist phrase will be found, but you'd have to be looking for it in order to initiate a search. A non-specific conversational phrase will also (probably) be found, but there will be several hundred thousand other occurrences of the phrase found at the same time. So while, in theory at least, everything you write here can be retrieved by a third party, they would need to be looking for it. Useful rather than threatening.
Obviously, specific combinations of references to religious extremism, high explosives and martyrdom should be avoided on car forums and almost everywhere else. :) :) :)

I did an experiment.
Put "Darth Loo-knee" into Google and OOF comes up first.
Put "jereboam" in and OOF is down at the bottom of page 4.
I'm not sure what this means. :( :( :(

Looked vor Vamps, lots of Vamps but none of me, only went 15 pages, but found this.....
