If you make calls abroad ask for vodafone passport. Also just tell them to look at your call patterns and suggest the best tariff. Good luck

I couldn't run up a £10 phone bill on my Vodafone - the signal is universally bad everywhere  >:(

impressive bill, as Vodafone signal is shite anywhere outside the m25!

Vodafone me and my son have noticed have been going down hill majorly lately. But I'll be getting a 32gb 3GS tomorrow 1200 mins and unltd texts but may get it for less than the £45 they're asking if I barter a bit  :-/

Don't want the iPhone 4 though as that'll be mega expensive for not much difference other than a slighly better camera and a couple of other pointless bits and worse looks  :)

Hi Del Boy...

I had been a pay monthly customer with Vodafone for the last 8 years and to be honest,,, nothing but trouble..

I had the same many times paying £50 a month incl all calls etc,, but still got big bills... thats when I said enough is enough.

I switched to pay as you go on Vodafone , which is brilliant, you can top it up when you need to, lets you be in control of your bill and no nasty shocks!!

Just my opinion..

Gross exaggeration, IMHO.  I'm on Voda and, up here, its actually quite good.  That said, if you go up the wild and wooly passes then Voda, in common with any other mainstream provider (and that includes BBC FM Radio!) is cack.

I agree, brilliant signal where I am. NO PROBS. and I am NOWHERE near the M25

Brackley zero signal, across most of the town. Didn't have much in Liverpool, 2 bars most of the time. Stuggled through out wales to maintain data connection.

In fact the only time i see full signal is in and around London. Find o2 is best for signal, one of the blasts with TB we stopped off for a rest, Vodafone zero signal, O2 full signal!

My point exactly....

Unless you have travelled to all 'airts and pairts' of the UK and tested the signal then, to say thats its useless outside the M25 then, unless you have been and done it, its a very misleading statement to a potential purchaser....  ;)

I still maintain its useless, for best signal results has to be o2, as they inherited the BT network

Fair enough, but best put the caveat in there that its based on your experience and not 'fact'.   :y

I get a constant signal drop in certain parts of Ashford, can't get it at all in some places. I thought it was the phone, so my old one blew up somehow  ::) But now everyone else has switched to Vodafone on how good they used to be and they've gone majorly down hill  :(

Depends what you want... 3 is best for a 3g signal ;)

Oh... And I had a signal everywhere in Brackley on 3, and IIRCC it was 3g too :y

You also can't compare signal strengths between networks (fairly) unless using identical handsets :y

Only my opinion......

I travel the whole of the UK a LOT, and will be in Liverpool next week. Wherever I go, have rarely lost Vodafone signal, although sometimes its a bit "one bar-two bar" signal. will not defend Vodafone because their customer service is crap, but can't change networks as ALL my companies mobiles are tied in on a contract until 2012........
and we don't pay for company moby to company moby calls, however long or wherever in the world,  OR any texts at all.  I will say that their phone replacement service is ok though, normally get replacements within 24hrs, even if in another country............

Got to thoroughly agree with you H. :y :y :y

I have used Vodafone since the mid-1980s, had a fitted car phone for their network in the 1990s,  travelled the length and breadth of the country, and since the mid 90s had my own personal Vodafone mobile.  In the early days there were areas where the signal was bad, but over recent years I have often had a strong signal when my friends mobiles on other networks have none ::) ::).

As always I am on contract, 125 'anytime, stop the clock' minutes, and 250 inclusive minutes per month, and a free phone upgrade every 12 - 18 months, all for a monthly bill of usually no more than £26.  I have had no problems with their customer service either in-store or at their call centre, and personally Vodaphone give me everything I need :y :y

Can't fault Vodafone customer service, they've given me 1200 minutes and free calls to all other Vodafone users, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £40 a month. Bill actually came to £174.98, and looking at the calls I made yes it's right, but after my minutes ran out they get charged at 35 a minute  :o 31 hours worth of calls I've made  :-[

As for general voda signal, it does appear to be much more patchy than o2 (identical handset). Not just where I live (voda only network not to provide signal to the town), but Almost everywhere we go. I'm always struggling for signal on voda, mrs tb rarely struggles with her o2. O2 do have poor 3g coverage though

There was only been one occasion when I've had a signal when she hasn't
