Going to have to sell the beemer :'(
I agreed to go to Japan last year, and what with flat purchase, come up slightly short, so going to have to sell it to release some funds. I don't actually need that much, so plan to get an older 1150 GS with what i have left! 8-)
Going to miss it though :(

I would argue not..... ;D

Thought at one point you had decided to keep the 1200 up at your Mums and use it when you came home.

That was the plan, and i can do it.... just! Want a safety margin though for any unexpected flat costs

Mr Tunnie........When you buy your first "shag pad"......there will be no money left over for such luxury... :y :y

Posting in For Sale sections
Absolutely no links to your Ebay auctions, or Ebay auction numbers.
No posting for sale items in the 'wrong' areas to get around the postcount limits.
Looks like the forum rules need updating.
No links from any site for items you are selling
and
no posting the he wrong area regardless of your postcount.
just wondering why you think the rules should be different for you Tunnie, you cant bend the rules by getting away from the obvious, and let's face it, you are the first to moan about others at times.
Modified by me also.
Nice one Tunnie. :y

A confident asking price for the mileage :-/ :-/
Its about right given age, there are older examples with no panniers for same money, in no hurry to sell.

I saw the previous version of this post ::) :P
-
seems we have some new admins, doesn't seem to need stoneing by the populous just yet.
I'm not familiar with that model tbh Tunnie. With jap stuff anything over 10k would be considered high mileage, although some of that is dealers driving down second hand prices.

Thats the thing, Jap bikes 10k and thats way to much. With beemer, until tis 50/60k its not really considered high.
I went through AT & MCN and priced it about right, i'll prob go down to as low as Ł6k & see what happens.
Cheers M :y

Can I ask if it was registered on the 13-04-2007, how is it a 56 plate :-? :-?

Good point, never actually looked at that ;D
Should be an 07 Plate, did always wonder as its a 2007 model year as the dash cluster changed. Maybe just a very, very late registration :-/

I always thought though with the new style registrations, on the 1st of march anything registered went onto the new reg E.G something registered on the 28-02-2007 is a 56, but something registered on the 01-03-2007 was an 07 plate? I don't know what's gone on with your bike :-/

Might ring BMW Oxford next week and ask about it, never really thought about it. I know it was sold brand new from them (same guy who sold it brand new sold it to me)

I would personally :y
Di, i don't understand where you're coming from? Please could you explain :y
-
Surely this thread should be deleted, same as mine was for advertisng a VW part?
Unless BMW now making Omega's. One rule for one and One rule for us all I think.
Quick enough to have a POP at others, myself included.
:y :y :y
This is in General Chat, there goes that caps lock button again ::)
Dont see what the problem with caps lock is there Tunnie
VW, Omega and BMW have rightfully been written in caps exactthe same as I would have done.
And pop? Its the latest craze with her, to randomly capitalise words, i am assuming she is partially hard of hearing...
But she is right Tunnie, I dont think you like her and you have had digs at her in the past, so I for one dont fisgree with her.
Because i am sick and tired of two face attitude with her, asking for advice via PM (before she had a fit and left) I've even given her advice on her flat mounted TV on the wall in her living room. For the next day to call me Sad on some of my IT threads. Had enough!
She's as welcome here as any other member I would have thought Tunnie, you often have loads of Non Omega threads on the go, so why shouldnt Di, bloody hell I ask for advice on all sorts, if you dont want to communicate regards her threads then dont read them.
-
I never said I did have an Omega, but I may have
I been car shopping all day, you are just assuming I do not have one. Wether I have one or not is of no concern to you old boy.
And as for not advertised, 'BMW has to go', is a for sale tactic to me. Also, asking 6k is selling it as well, as is the date of 1st reg, so I think we can safely say it is advertised. End Of.
I wouldn't say he was advertising it being honest. If he had written a deatiled advert then, yes, he would be advertising it, but he didn't. Another thing I was the one to bring up about the registration date, not him :y
-
Del you sell cars, you are not stupid, anyone with an ounce of sense can see that is a for sale thread. Just worded it so it does not look like a for sale thread.
SIMPLES ;)

But he did put a link to the sale of the bike, so if he was not trying to sell it he would not have posted the link orriginally.

Granted he shouldn't have posted the link :y

Which backs up part of the fact point that Di was making.
She and the rest of of would never actually want to stop Tunnie selling his bike, and any of us where possible would help him. But rules is rules, we didnt make them.

Well if we have to get technical then there is nothing saying about posting for sale links on Auto Trader :y
Anyway that's enough from me, I personally don't think he was trying to sell it on here, you guys and girls do. I'll agree to disagree.

Splitting hairs, the point's the same, but if you go back to my reply I covered the point regards maybe the rules needed ammending (allthough not worded as such)

Only technical & hardware. Actual 'admin' work of the forum, on posts, moderating and such, is done by the team as a whole including TheBoy

Play nicely boys and girls... The admin team is probably too drunk to moderate this thread by now :-X :-X ::) ::)
The link made it a For Sale thread, it was removed so no longer a For Sale IMHO :y
As for Tunnie and Peachy... You are both as bad as each other and constantly try and get one up on each other... Just agree to disagree and not comment on each others posts... Seemples :y
It's what I did with another member who I didn't see eye to eye with and it worked fine :y :y
-
I didnt see this as a for sale thread, it was more of a thread from Tunnie to himself that he was sadly having to think about letting it go.....
Yes, maybe the link made it a for sale thread, but as Del says, the forum rules say no links to Ebay ads, does not mention Autotrader
The usual suspects involved in the argument, Skruntie, despite what you tell yourself you aint Admin buddy so leave it to the team to sort out and keep your beak out
Di, I love you, you know that........ :-* :-* :-* :-*

Thought it was general chat chris, Tunnie posted, Andy commented,so did I, Tunnie removed the link so what was the problem, a lot of people then jump in and the thread escalates.

Its been in the pipeline for years, got a couple of mates i went to school with, known one of them since i was 11! We do lots of holidays, toured all over the states when i got cheapo business class tickets anywere in the states for a couple of years.
We planned to do Tokyo then going via US (as actually worked out cheaper with my 95% discount on flights) But for various reasons never linked it together, last year was plan but one of us could not get leave from work.
This year we all booked 2 weeks off in January, flat purchase was not planned then.
As for where, Tokyo for a week, then take the bullet train south for a week and try and see some of the real Japan. Not actually booked anything yet though! :'(

Would be a fascinating trip, but as in the top gear trip, the thought of travelling a strange country with illegible letters/alphabet fills me with dread. How the he'll to find your way etc?

Thats one of the reasons for going, who knows what will happen, find places we never intended. Never really planned with any of my trips exactly what to do each day, just go with the flow.
In New York, we got a bit lost in rush hour, and massives of people all walking in one direction, we just joined in. Turned out we walked onto the Staten Island Ferry (had no idea at the time were this boat went!) Had a random explore around St George then headed back. I like it when random things like that happen :)
Also looking forward to popping down to the docks in Tokyo, in the early hours of the morning and trying some very fresh Sushi!

That's where I'm going wrong then, I'd want to tie it in with some event or other like the Suzuka 8hour or wsb at sugo perhaps. Need to take the student approach and see where I end up ;). But then you've always got to get back again, even if it's just to the air port and a plane home....? Easy to make airplane gesture for directions I suppose. Or get a sat nav?
Or even a jap nav ;D, ..........coat?

Seen few blogs of Japan where people take pictures/photos on their phone of things like Toilet, food, water, trains ect, and just show people, which is a nice idea. Clearly show what you need / want to people.
Things like Airport, i will research, work out busses / trains to and from, where to get the train from to get back, as they are important.
When i went to Chicago, i had no idea about their Millenium Project, which is a stadium and park, we just stumbled across it by asking ourself, whats down that road? Then whats up there?

Yup! Inside its interesting goes up much further than you think. Behind the shot is the stadium, its all built on old railway sidings. Much better than our tent :D
Police were funny, they were patrolling on pimped out Segways with huge tyres. I would have taken photos, but they had guns :-[
Someone was braver than me though:

Thread pruned to remove childish behaviour between a couple of members.
This is not a sales thread as I read it now.
This is due, I feel, to members being adult enough to offer well intentioned advice and for others to act upon it with the application of hindsight.
Matter closed. :y
