Had a look at the two web sites, looks like no XH558 this year :(
-
That is very sad news Martin :'( :'(
Obviously money is in short supply, and will be for some time to come.
One wonders if it will fly again :( :( :(
-
....................I have had a look at their web site Martin I cannot find anything on her not flying this year :-? :-?
-
Indeed, the news I have is that the service is progrssing well and she will start tests in the next few weeks.
-
I think they have said that the delays in securing funding pushed the maintenance work to later in the year. She'll be airbourne again but a bit later than originally thought.

It is possible that it will not visit Waddington Air Show this year - Lincolnshire Echo (http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/news/Doubts-raised-Vulcan-Bomber-s-appearance-RAF-Waddingham-Air/article-2290496-detail/article.html) :-/
What I don't understand is that the Vulcan seems to have such a lot of problems keeping air worthy yet the Battle of Britain flight (Lanc. Spitfire and Hurricane) never has these problems. Or the B of B flight doesn't get the press coverage.

I think the main difference mate is that the Vulcan is being run on a very tight budget.....BBMF isnt.....

Vulcan complexity = Lancaster complexity 2
Plus they are run on a shoe string

1) Remove the nuclear device, taking care to avoid detonation.
2) Remove the ECM module, taking care not to microwave yourself.
