... I was rushing to catch a train at 6am on Weds morning.
Left my only bunch of keys on top of ticket machine, and merrily chugged off down the tracks... :-[
Only omega key was on there, as was my only roofbox key - house keys - locker keys - the whole shebang.
I was really worried... but am now relieved, as they are safely with the platform staff, awaiting my arrival home...
Me thinks I owe First Great Western a thank you!! :y

Yes indeed James, very lucky! :y :y
Some would have picked up the keys and gone around the car park testing the remote, and if no luck received would have just chucked your keys in the bushes, as you would well know! ::) ::) ;) ;)

In fairness, it was probably an average 'joe public' who handed them in to a member of station staff.
Despite what people want to believe, not everyone is a thieving wotsit. :(
Really upsets me when everyone in this country is labeled as a bad 'un.

I did the same earlier this week. I'd put mine on the sink at work whilst i washed up & then went shopping only to receive a call from work asking me to call round & collect them.
I'd already stamped up a disc with the letter & number stamps at work with my contact details on incase i lost them. It worked well :)

Is a fair point indeed... and incidents like this do help to restore such faith :y

Some years back, I had a Ford Cortina and dropped the only keys I had down a roadside drain when locking the door!
After I had spent 2 hours trying to fish them out (they were just out of reach) I looked a right mess with people walking past me as if I was a beggar.
But much worse was to come when I finally made it home and the Missus caught a whiff of me!

You obviously didn't realise at the time that if you had of asked a few fellow Cortina drivers around you, one of their keys would be guaranteed to unlock yours. With Cortina Estates it was even easier; any old key would unlock the tailgate! ::) ::) ;) ;)
Then of course someone, never me of course :P :P :P, could have got your car started, and remaining turning over, by hot wiring what was easily accessible around the steering column :D :D :D ;)

plumber on the last day of work at my house "lost" his keys.
in the rush to finish off the job, as he was setting off a holiday in canada for 3 months , left the keys in the door at seven in the evening.
couldnt find them anywhere.
told him not to worry about the van and have a good holiday.took the steering lock off and pushed it onto the driveway against the wall.
towed it over to his chosen place for storage the next day and left him with the dilema of the key coding milarkey thru citroen.
two months latter some kids knocked the door saying they had found some keys in the hedge after one of them got shoved in it! :o
