Well Richie if I had loads of alcohol before going to bed I wouldn't wake up at 0430;  I would wake up at 0030, 0130, 0230, 0400, 0530, 0700, going to the loo!! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Do you close your curtains? The light mornings will wake you up, they do me. I'll be up at five tomorrow & walking Mutley before six :)

This is very common Richie. I dont think I've had a proper nights sleep for years. I'm tired for the first few hours each day but then I buck up.

Staying off the alcohol might help. Doesn't do anything to help me sleep unless I'm legless, it has to be said.

.. and  a nice hot drink of cocoa / horlicks / ovaltine instead. ::)

Is it about that time you started with the new problem of not sleeping?

I have no day or night sleep pattern. I'll go to bed at night & be awake  3 or 4 hrs later. I can doze off again easily but the pattern re occurs. Same in the daytime. Alcohol or lack of makes no difference.
    Maybe down to my work (HGV) I start finish at wildy warying times depending on where i have to be & at what time. I also drive round with a bed behind me & after a 4am start can easily sleep for 2 or 3 hours when i get to my destination later in the morning if it's a long load. Hence no regular sleep pattern for years now.

my dad was the same being a long distance lorry driver, i used to go out with him in his lorry and when i think about him carry those cast iron baths over his back makes me wonder how he never did his back in or get a hernia. mind you he was a big man in his day and a real grafter.

Only drink decaffenated coffee three hours before going to bed.

Take some excercise a few hours before bed e.g. walk an imaginary dog round the block

No acohol in last three hours before going to bed.
