Actually the whole 11th/ 12th celebrations etc. are a bit of a sore point atm, a bit of bonfire type mischief very nearly killed my sister and her family last night.

She lives in the house adjoining the one which was gutted. :(

The people who lived in the gutted house got back tonight. They are completely devastated apparently.
Sister isnt much better. Every thing inside their house was destroyed by smoke, they only have the clothes they are wearing left. they also dont know if their house is structurally damaged yet, but they wont be back living in it for a long time whatever happens.

Yep. Apparently that was what caught alight and the the rest of the house followed. Sister doesnt have oil heating, otherwise her house would have went the same way.

sad that some battle over 300 years ago still possesses a bunch of paraffins in cheap suits, bowler hats and white gloves to march along to their annoying music..........whats the reason again?  ;)

Our attitude in Liverpool was pretty much the on I carry forward on this forum. On 12th july we ALL would march, catholics and protstants together (and sing some pretty insulting songs about the pope ).
On St Patricks day exactly the same, except the emphasis on the butt of the songs would change.
All for a laugh, all for a piss-up ;D :y
