Yes I do feel now that I am not required on here (I did alert Daz at the start of the thread about STMO's unwelcome rudeness (Yet again) and at least Daz did something about it :y :y), and I think that now, like maybe the other ladies who have departed the OOF, my personality does not suit the Forum :'( :'(.
Yes I am a strong minded individual who will push my belief and conviction (35 years of business managerial training!) to the utmost. I am used to doing that in a professional environment, where comment is in line with Company Regulations and Guidelines, whilst maybe still strong, is neverless kept polite and professional. I sincerely apologise to all if this approach is not to their liking on the OOF.
Anyway it is clear that I am the problem here, not the solution to the "broken Forums" woes as widely published by the Admins only a few weeks ago. Therefore whilst NOT leaving the OOF I will now hibernate and only use it for reference.
Frankly posting on the OOF has become too much like hard work and always under the threat of upset (this time with first STMO being most insulting, then Ht21, even though he was the one who stressed the need to stick to the guidelines; sorry Ht21 for wasting your time last night!)
I have tried to help fellow members either on the Help Sections or physically with their cars and motoring needs. But obviously I still do not fit in, especially with a little gang that have formed on here in my time, so after 13,134 posts I move on :'( :'(.
All the very best to all, and especially the OOF that will eventually have to find its path that will satisfy the admins and members alike. :y :y :y :y :y :y

If you feel that you cannot cope with that, then I will ignore your posts in future, but I suggest you start to realise that the real world is not a rose garden and the real world is where most of us live.
This is the second/third time we have heard you say that you will stay in the background, only to find you posting away in Gen chat, and no one has said anything. I have left twice and come back, but you couldn't let me forget that.
As for H21's input, he is right, you should mind your own business, you are not a mod, and neither is Skruntie.

Your "idea" of good forum behaviour seems to be "hit the quote button - make a disparaging remark"
I didn't miss your absence ..and it seems remarkedly coincidental that the arguments about swearing, rudeness, pettiness and which rule should apply today... have only resurfaced since your return.
I'm not a Mod or an Admin, but I'm entitled to a view, and mine is that you cause more problems than you solve.

dont normaly comment on this type of thing, but i have to say stmo posts are just banter the way i read them? sure some are strong and can be taken 2 or 3 different ways?, but he is the same with everyone on here so personally i think Liz has just taken it the wrong way? which is easy to do in the written word as opposed to speaking face to face?

If it's the way Lizzie feels, then I think we have to respect her opinion and her choice to stay in the background, as they say you can't help the way you feel. Yes, it is a shame, but ultimately it's Lizzie's choice so she will and can do what she would like to do :y

As someone who works in an environment where banter is rife and, as a manager, causes me disciplinary problems to sort out on a regular basis, I feel well placed to offer an olive branch to all here.
As previosuly mentionned banter can be taken different ways by different people and if someone does not like it then they should privately ask the offender to desist as it is unwelcome. Having 1k,2k or 13k+ posts does not qualify someone for banter or abuse it is personality dependant as to how they will take it.
Thus if you know that someone does not take banter well then you shouldn't abuse them and say that because they have been here a while they should just take it. Sorry, but I feel that is a moronic attitude towards light humour and a quick way to upset people.
Also rules are for mods/admins to enforce. Nothing stops members alerting mods to enfringments or even complaining about unwanten abuse. We should be thankful that the people who run this site actually do a lot to make, amend and enforce rules as they see fit. It wont please everyone all of the time, that is impossible, but the rules are worded to ensure a pleasant, safe and fun forum for all people regardless of background or gender.
I dont feel that the lack of female members has anything to do with people on here but more with a general lack of interest in car forums amoung the female fraternity. We shouldn't bend over backwards to bring them in nor should we ostrecise them either.
Everyone is equal here, except Daz, he deserves banter ;D ;D
Now lets all go back to getting along :y

Lizzie in all fairness is backing H21 with the new rules implemented. She posted posted comment yesterday, and 2 forum members started to pull her down for it.
In all fairness, lizzie and H21 should have been the only ones left to comment. I stuck for Lizzie when one of these members started using four letter words in the reply.
Sorry guys, I dont think the problem here at times really get focused on, in this situation I fell Lizzie is getting aggro for all the wrong reasons, it seems that certain people can say and do what they want, where it seems others cant comment on something that should be right, but isnt.

Let's look at the bigger picture here, if your a newbie, and you come across threads of a nature whereby aiming your comments to another member on here, with the intention of upsetting them doesn't look good for us as a whole being the OOF. And would you stay for long if this seams the normal ?.
And if in a conversation about car forums are brought up, and someone new who's just joined, goes back to their friends with negative comments, what happens, when a once good reputation of a forum goes downhill :-/.
If reading this, then admin decide to have a go at me personally, or start to mess with my level of membership, then so be it, because I have a life as well as this one on here, and I have to end by saying I'm disapointed a member on here, when this sort of thing happens... And this isn't the first time this has happened, and it'll probably happen again, but for Christ sake were adults aren't we, and surely were better than this.

Lizzie, you're more than able to put this spat behind you, anyone in a position of 'Authority' or Reponsibility in any walk of life develops a thick skin as a matter of course. You are much bigger than this, & must shrug it off & come back stronger than before. STMO is no less a strong character than you are, & you know better than most that 'opposites attract' & equals repel'! :y.

I'm very sad to read that you feel this way Lizzie, but I can fully understand your reasoning behind it. I've logged on maybe 6 times in 2 weeks, and yes I do miss it and I do lurk in the background.
This feeling of the forum being 'broken' has been floating around for quite a while now. I asked before the lakes meet if this was going to be discussed and I was assured it was with the members present at the lakes. Now I work in a school environment which means I couldn't get time off, as it was term time, to attend so asked if it was going to be discussed further online afterwards which I was assured it was. From my understanding, some of the problems were discussed between the Admins, Mods and pending Mods which, IMO, is a great start but that is as far as it has gone. Where does it go from here? I'd go as far to agree with the small changes that have occoured since the lakes but I still have reservations. There seems to be a definate cliqúe forming which just seems to be making the situation much worse than it was beforehand and this is just reinforcing my descision to stay off the forum further.

I don't know what caused this & i don't need to, suffice to say i'm glad Lizzie has'nt left entirely. It's good to know you're here even if we can't see you so to speak. I'll be honest Lizzie & say i don't agree with everything you say & feel sometimes you are to easily offended although this is only my opinion. I do however recognize & admire your knowledge on subjects that would leave me reeling.
For the rest of you i know i'm outspoken at times, some of wish i would go away, others have become firm friends on & off the forum. Don't be a stranger, Guy.xx

Lizzie has stepped back and not left, and I think all concerned are just hoping this thread fried up on it's as I am sure is is doing.
So the thing I am more interested in now are.
Whats the forecast for the result of the British Grand Prix tomomorow :y
and what will the world cup outcome be. Who Will Win. :y

Button in 14th will make him try harder and will probably nick 3 or 4 places on the 1st lap, far enough back to make a good run, to too far forward to fall over anybody going for front spot. Remeber Webber a few weeks back he started down the grid and I cant remember if he actually won or not.

I know Im not a regular poster on here but I log in after a few days and find that HC and now Lizzie are thinking of "retiring" albeit for different reasons. Whats going on ? For what its worth Lizzie I hope you do stick around as , just as I said about HC, Ive always enjoyed your contributions and you are certainly a very knowledgeable lady. The forum will be a poorer place without the pair of you in my humble opinion.

me, I'll just be glad to have a sunday off for a change. In this heat itll be nice not to be melting at work. at least if its as hot as today (or rather yesterday) im only a stones throw from the beach so can jump in the sea. TBH ,we moan about the English weather but this heat is too much for me. Anyhow, Irmscher skirts eh, very nice. Hope all goes well with them mate.
