Title: Brain-dead idiots
Post by: jonnycool on 13 July 2010, 12:36:29
There is a Facebook page devoted to the memory of Raoul Moat, full of tributes to the 'legend' who managed to evade police for days and who, they seem to forget, was ready to kill those very people who pay tribute to him if he didn't start to get his own way.

Attendees of the media circus! ::)

.....they`d doubtlessly see things differently, if it were their father/husband/son whom had been killed or mutilated by the deranged and selfish, Mr. Moat. :'(

Just a few weeks earlier a gun-toting maniac had killed innocent people, I don't see the difference between this and the 'hero' Moat, I just don't get the mentality of some people. What if it had been a member of their family who had been maimed and blinded?

Best ignored IMHO.

Shameful that the owners of FB haven't jumped on it.  I would think they should have a list of unsavoury characters to flag-up warnings automatically to moderators. :(

I get the impression from what I've heard about it, that they're not interested in what goes on the pages of their site, or if anyone threatens other people on it, "the young owner" just want's everyone in the world to use it.

Not 100% sure, but I think if you were to google (or whatever) FB complaints, it would surprise you just how many people aren't happy with the company.  And probably overtaken eBay for complaints by now  ::).

And I would expect if there were any real moderation going on, then half the people on there wouldn't be on there at all  ;D

You aint kidding STMO! 200 years ago we sent the convicts to Oz, now it's the rest of us that should be going 'down under' & leaving the convicts to what's left of Blighty! ;D ;D

He was mentally unstable possibly not helped by steroid use. He'd just been released from custody & had a failed relationship. Ok, that's not a happy place to be but we've all had failed relationships & some of us have been put away as well & most of us learn by our mistakes, dust ourselves down & get on with it
I don't think any amount of therapy etc. could've helped this bloke despite any bearded sandal wearers best intentions. I don't wish anyone dead but at least he can't hurt anyone else & if he was that tortured it's probably a merciful release for him too.

I think that's a very valid point C - it's my feeling that such sites are helping to promote this 'anything goes' society.
